Yes there is, its do-able with EVERY character, just the timing varies. The aim is to jump and then whilst holding down left or down right on the joystick press the dodge button BUT that must be done as the jump animation is starting.
is there any point doing it with a fast character like fox?

Its true that Fox can probably run as fast as he can wavedash, but wavedashing is a part of mindgames as well, so its good to know how to do it even if your character runs faster then wavedashes.
Wavedashing is something that is used for mindgames mainly, it can be used to get across the stage, but mostly mindgames and combos.

Lol, I don't know if I know more on this topic or not, its just an opinion I have that wavedashing is part of mindgames so that should be its primary use
I remember the days when I didn't know anything about wavedashing and I'd see the vids and go "What the hell are they doing?" but now I understand and use it occasionally and look back on the old days and laugh lol.
ill be teaching my self all this properly when brawl comes out incase the timings change and throw me off completely
They will probably change, if the game has been slowed down it might actually be easier to wavedash (If its still in there because theres a chance it will be removed from the game.)

Technically no you weren't dreaming, its just after Mario is hit by Link's arrow I believe... but that could of been a rushed trailer, they might figure out what causes wavedashing to be in the game before launch and remove it, but time will tell.
well i half do and half dont hope they take it out - if they do then im better on average lies of players (skill level will have gone down) but if it stays in then i can still destroy my friends using it
Yeah I'm split as well, but keep in mind taking away wavedashing will bring the pros down a bit BUT it won't mean we'll still be able to match them. Because there are some pros who rarely use wavedashing as a part of their game, so they wouldn't be affected too much. But yeah if it is in their still I think all those players who refuse to learn about it may decide to, they are the ones hoping it won't be in Brawl the most.

Yeah I'm the same, but it would be nice if it stayed... just so there was a way to seperate the rookies from the pros.
I won't play online with Brawl as much as I will in person though, because online lacks certain aspects of the game which I love.

I will use it a bit... but face-to-face matches will be the best. I'm just worried that Brawl's online will ruin the enjoyment of tournaments at a mates place lol... they rock.

well 1v1 shouldn't be a problem - what i worry about is the lag in 1v1v1v1...
Thats if 1v1v1v1 matches are possible, I think they might be a bit too laggy to handle, so they might just stick to 1v1 matches for online.
And since I play 1v1 more thats all that matters to me lol, 1v1v1v1 matches are possibly going to be left out... MAYBE... we might learn more at the Wii event in September.
On another note: I started playing as C. Falcon today... and holy crap, he has some real potential to become my secondary character. Speed and power, he has them both... only problem is how fast he falls.
im playing as new characters all the time...

Pichu is all right but hurts himself...
