I main with Marth, so he's gotta stay.
I was after more in depth reasons.

Not just "I main him therefore he should stay."
Ness should stay. i hate fighting him with a passion, and playing as him is frustrating as all hell, but he's so original, and if played well, he's pretty hard to beat

that, and he's just iconic. he has to stay because he's Ness Toungue
i like ness too

as for Marth, he should stay. he was the main character in the first Fire Emblem game. (correct me if i'm wrong) he was also a very popular character for wharever reason it may be, and futhermore promoted the First Fire Emblem title released outside Japan, with the help of roy, who should also be de-cloned.
No, you are correct. Marth starred in both Fire Emblem 1 on the NES and Fire Emblem 3 on the SNES. Now some are saying that because Ike has appeared in two FE games he should replace him. Which I think is bs, Marth's importance to the FE franchise > that of Ike's.

As for his moveset, I would hope he isn't changed to drastically as I much enjoy how he handles in SSBM. Roy is the one who needs changing (but we will get to him soon enough).

Marth for SSBB lol.
i dont Sakurai will take away from the Fire Emblem series, just add.
We can always hope for that because its the smartest thing to do. Its been around longer than Pokemon after all. And has had many, many games. I see no reason why they shouldn't have 3 reps for the franchise. 4 would be a dream of course, then everyone could be happy: Marth, Sigurd, Roy, Ike.
lol. why is almost every series in Smash Bros. is compared to Pokemon? just a thought.

but adding two characters isnt much to ask for.
I think Marth should certainly stay. He's a well rounded character, I don't see many flaws with his fighting style.
i'd say he's above average, but LM-X thinks he's broken
I don't think he's broken, on the contrary, he's quite good. I've used his counter move numerous times when my foe had a hammer.
Marth isn't quite as broken as Sheik or Peach. But the aspects of his aerial combat make him a very hard character to overcome. And the fact that his sword swipes through almost any ranged attack is strange as well.
I'll admit his aerial combat is bad; I frequently use the counter attack whilst floating down. His third jump attack is only good at close range, and his only other good aerial move is the stationary one.
Wrong.

The key to Marth's success: Fair (Forward Air for those not down with the terminology)

Also, I wasn't saying that Marth is bad in the air, because he isn't. If anything Marth is bad on the ground considering how good his aerial combat is.
Misinterpretation on my part. Sorry. Some of his air attacks are good, some bad. The timing is everything.
His only bad aerial is his Dair. That thing is terrible. The lag is too much to justify using it and it is only a Meteor attack, not a spike. So even if you do hit someone with it, they can Meteor cancel and be saved from it.

Fair, Nair, Bair and Uair are all superb attacks.
Hey everyone, I'm new but i'm a HUGE fan of SSBM and I believe i've MASTERED fox, so if anyone lives in VA, talk to me sometime so we can schedule a Battle.
hey Welcome to WiiLoaded. i also main in Fox. we'll have to meet up when Brawl comes out. Twisted
