The official trailer is now embedded below and it should be a lot clearer to see.

Let's get a show of hands, who else would like to see more blood and gore come to Wii? If Resident Evil 4 and No More Heroes just weren't enough for you here comes Mad World from Platinum Games who were previously known as Seeds and before then were responsible for creating great games like Okami and Viewtiful Joe as Clover Studio.

Yesterday a shaky and low quality off-screen video of what was apparently a Wii exclusive game entitled Mad World hit the internet and was seemingly being pulled from YouTube as soon as it was uploaded. All this left Mad World as being nothing more than rumored new IP since there was nothing official from Platinum to confirm or deny the video clip which you'll find below.

However only a day after the release of the leaked video Platinum director Shigenori Nishikawa sat down with Famitsu to discuss Mad World and as a result also confirmed its development. The title looks very promising and has us gripped with anticipation already.

The video that was leaked yesterday contains a few short clips of people being chainsawed to death, getting their hearts ripped out, and having road signs jammed through their skulls. It seems the game will borrow slightly from the art styles in Okami and Sin City with a grainy black and white look with only blood appearing in color. Hopefully we'll hear more on this game soon.

As long as it has a plot. And not just some stupid fighting game..than im in.
Because of some problems embedding the video on the Portal page the video is now just linked to in the original post.
The game looks cool, I like the art style. It's good to see developers getting more creative with their Wii titles.
Yeah I agree. The game art looks great but for sum its still considered kiddy. For example my friends view games that take a different art style as kiddy because it doesnt have the realism that Gears of War .
Ignorance FTL.
Wow...
That is taking ignorance to an art form. Toungue
I like artsy over gory.
Yea, it looks cool, artsy, with blood, but I'm sort of worried about the black and white theme.

Yeah...I kinda wanna take great games that are cell-shaded such as No more heroes and Zelda windwaker and smash them over the head until they realize that its great.

Looks pretty interesting. I wanna see more on this title but so far it looks pretty cool.
The IGN article was really good an saide it's the game has lots of blood in a comedic fashion and that the main character uses melee weapons

This is a nice blend of both Smile

Reminds me of a game only Suda 51 would make

hopefully theres a good story to it
Not too excited about the black and white line style. Could get confusing trying to distinguish roads, buildings and such. If they'd add some gray it'd clear most of that up.

As far as the action and such, it looks great so far. Probably end up buying it. ^_^

IGN Wrote:
What strikes us immediately is just how can be seen and identified within the industrial city streets despite the monochrome color scheme. There's a great deal of definition to the bulky main character, Jack, and his foes. When Jack walks into a well-lit area, his face becomes white with the illumination. In the darkness, its black with white outlines. Even with massive particle bloodshed and camera sweeps, the framerate is rock solid.

From that quote the style doesn't seem to hurt telling things apart in the game, so it shouldn't pose a big problem.

After seeing a real video of it, it does look a lot better than the first glance. The grainy low-quality cam video made it look worse than it really is.

I'm excited about this game now. Big Grin
