Anyone else here play the strings?
I've been playing for a little over 2 year but when I started playing I found out it was what I was meant to do. I've always loved music and was one of those kids always banging on shit. I haven't been playing that long but it's come so naturally that I am above and on par with my fiends and the people I jam with, some which have been playing for 7+ years.
I tend to play in and under the genre of classic rock, mainly psychedelic and progressive. Aside from playing acoustic/electric guitar I also play mandolin, banjo, violin and the keyboard/synthesizer(which I love.)

Yeh, I've been playing for about a year and a half now, I'm getting quite good, never had lessons though, I'm currently in a band, and I was in another before that. I play indie/alternative usually, Hope to buy a fat strat soon

I can also play bass, keys/synth and drums. I can also sing, although I choose not to...

Been playing electric for over 4 days!! Yeah I just started.

I've been planning to play for 2 years now but it just never came full circle
I've been told I can sing too eventhough I don't believe it and have thought of going to drums.

Oh yeah forgot to mention I'm a poet. Who'd guess eh? lol I write poems and lyrics to songs all the time. I post them sometimes on my LJ, should check it out.

Currently I have an Epiphone Les Paul S-II (Dr. Skull editoin) on a Marshall MG15CD. Some of my pedals are: a, Vox V847 Wah-wah, an Electro-Harmonix Double Muff, Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer, and a MXR Blue Box.
I'm waiting till I get more cashflow to buy better equipment. First thing I'm buying is a black Gibson Les Paul with some '57 Classic(bridge) & '57 Classic Pro(neck) humbuckers.

Been playing/practicing acoustic guitar for a half-a-week, now... I'm horrible.

my brother's pretty good he taught his own teacher how to play! lol

Teaching a teacher? When I used to have Guitar in school I would show the teacher all kinds of things like easy patterns of adding 5th/7th/9ths to any chord and he was amazed. He was just a "music theory" teacher though, not a guitarist.
