Every time I switch between games (usually Bad Company and GTA IV), say I've been playing GTA for a while, well I feel like playing Bad Company so I go put the disc in. Then the game says theres an update available. so I download it and play some BC. Well then I switch back to GTA, and it says theres an update available for it. So I update and play some GTA.. then switch back to BC and it says to update again. This keeps happening no matter how many times I switch between the games.. anyone know why its doing it or how to make it stop?

It only happens when i'm switching games though. If I play a game of GTA after updating and turn my console off, then turn it on again without switching games and go right back to GTA then it won't update
if your running out of disk space or if you don't have a hard drive at all then you will download the latest 'fix' every time you switch out games, if you do have a drive with pleanty of space then they should be kept on the drive.

It was more a stab at huge software houses needing to release hundreds of patches for console games.

I have 10.1GB free space left so I dont see why its still doing it
Hmmm...that's really odd. You might want to contact Microsoft about it, could just be a random mess up.
indeed this seems odd then, i google search doesn't bring anything else up, looks like this might be an odd problem,as alex suggests i'd email xbox supporrt about it
i have the same problem with lumines live. i dont know why it happens and it doesnt really bother me much since i rarely play the game anymore.
the only games of mine that update constantly at the ones like pgr4 and grid that have tornaments and competitions, and the update is just the latest info on them. not sure why gta and cod4 would do it tho
