Personally, I might just pass. I understand that they are trying to please fans [the old school hardcore in particular,] and I am a big fan [not too hardcore] but I loved Megaman 6. It had the slide+dash with the buster blaster.
My history with MM games are as follows in chronological order:
MM1
MM2
Mega Man 64 [whoa big time skip there]
MMX
MMX3
MMZX
yeah pretty bouncy... so a watched a few videos and info regarding the MM durign the NES and SNES days MM3-8. Apparently, regarding to super hardcore fans.. MM8 was horrible and boring. MM3-4 were innovative and brough power sliding and the charged buster.
MM9 will be pretty much like MM1-2.... and idk how i really feel about that. I dont care about the visuals.. because they rock. I just dont like how stripped down its going to feel.
I always found MM games frustrating. ...At least that's been my memories of the series from childhood.
I downloaded the demo on PSN. It didn't take long to bring all those feelings back. The first time I died and had to start at the beginning of the stage I just about lost it.
I'll go back to the Mega Man Collection on GC if I get the itch to play the series and pass on 9. I thought they did a great job in creating MM9 though. It is total fan service for the NES series, and I'd love to see Nintendo follow suit with the Mario, Metroid, Zelda and Punchout series.
On October 6 for NA the Proto Man DLC will be available for 200 Wii Points. Proto Man will up the difficulty level because he takes twice the damage of Mega Man and E & M tanks won't be available to buy.
Oh yes this is how the game should be, MegaMan should have those nifty moves!
