Kotaku:
Late last week Nihon Securities Journal set out a notice regarding "Nintendo Conference Autumn 2008". The event will be held on October 2nd, and according to NSJ, Nintendo will be announcing "new products". While Nintendo traditionally does not attend the Tokyo Game Show, an early October event would certainly help the company from getting lost in the shuffle.
More as this develops.
Not sure what exactly to expect, but it should be interesting nonetheless. I am not really expecting any big game announcements given Nintendo's recent revelation that we shouldn't expect any big franchises to re-emerge for at least 2 years. "New products" does sound a little intriguing though.
I'm interested in finding out what these new products are going to be.
I smell fail. But will pay attention anyway. I remain cautious after the company's inability to produce quality recently.
Hmm...you never know with Nintendo. They could announce some pretty serious stuff. That's the thing about Nintendo, for better or worse you can NEVER tell what they're going to do next.
*Update* There's also an event scheduled by NOA on the same days...wonder whats all the hulabaloo?

Now I'm excited.
Maybe they're unveiling another minigame in Wii Sports Resort!
But in seriousness...
On September 2, 2008, High Voltage Software announced that they had selected the publisher for The Conduit, and that they would reveal their choice within the following weeks.
Nintendo announcing *their* new IP perhaps?
i looked into the future, they are announcing a storage solution for VC games,
Spoiler: (hover to reveal the text)
hmmm could this be the time to surprise us with a new hendheld? remember they were talking about maybe releasing a new handheld for Japanese sales were going down.well it be good if they did give a new hendheld with 3d graphics, and to hold music and stuff....but they probably won't release a new hendheld.....
^^Pokemon platinum just sold nearly a million within one week. Sales for ds are still brilliant.
I'm intrigued

I think sales are slowing down in Japan because everyone already owns one.

No. No one aside from EA should be allowed to publish The Conduit. I want friendcode-less online multiplayer so badly.
we can't always get what we want kindyd:
i'm gonna have to agree with lm-x on this one, this way if they fail, then i'm not disappointed, and if they don't then i'm happy

i don't think a company as crappy as EA should be allowed to publish The Conduit.
NO! Then they'd give no online to Australia and I wouldn't buy it.
EA can go to fricking Hell.

OMG, this, I despise EA.
