Just because McCain married a wealthy heiress doesn't mean he's an elitist.
Just because Obama is only a little wealthy doesn't mean he isn't an elitist.
It's about attitude, and I doubt you'll find anyone except some Democrats arguing that Obama's not an elitist.
Just look at his debates with Hillary.

"I look forward to being advised by you."

Ron Paul is the most respectable person, and he isn't even on the table, so no go there. Thus, I'll have to default to Barr on the likelihood that he'll be on my ballot. Some of his stances have changed dramatically through the years, so that's an understandable concern. I seriously doubt anyone would call him an elitist though, considering his humble upbringing.
