According to 2K games, the Playstation 3 port of its hit Bioshock has officially gone gold. The game is currently scheduled to be released October 21st in NA with a global launch occurring a few days earlier on October 17th.

Developed by 2K Marin, 2K Boston, 2K Australia and Digital Extremes, BioShock for the PlayStation 3 system contains all-new content that augments and extends the experience in exciting ways. BioShock for the PlayStation 3 system contains new features such as the inclusion of the Survivor difficulty mode, Trophy support and the addition of all-new Add-On Game Content that will be available for download shortly after launch. Pricing and availability for Add-On Game Content will be specified at a later date.

BioShock is a narrative-driven action experience that allows players to do the impossible as they journey through an amazing, immersive and terrifying world. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by genetically mutated citizens, the player will come to grips with the mysterious and fascinating world of Rapture, a distinct Art Deco underwater utopia gone mad. BioShock not only challenges players' capacity to adapt and survive, but brings to question their values and relationships with the inhabitants of Rapture. With smart and adaptive AI, no encounter ever plays out the same way twice, while numerous customization options provide gamers with an experience that adapts to their playing style.

For anyone who wants to try this before they buy, the demo will hit the PSN store this Thursdsay in North America.

I'll definitely download and try the demo but it will have to be after the 11th.

I'll be checking out the demo as well. It looks cool and the 360 version got rave reviews.

dont bother with the demo, this game is great

I liked the demo, and since I'd never played the game, I'm glad I tried it out. I don't care to pay full price for this game, even though it's suppose to have some graphical enhancements, but I'll wait till I can buy it cheaper

I downloaded the demo, but haven't tried it yet. I don't like buying games site unseen, I've been burnt enough times to learn that lesson. Probably the biggest reason why I wanted in the LBP beta.

played through the demo to see if it was different from the 360 version, and it's the same. if anything, i'd suggest not watching the video at the end of the demo. it reveals way too many tricks/tactics.

They really ought to release a true Director's Cut version of the game; anyone who's played it can probably tell you the true climax happens hours before the game rolls the credits.

I played and loved the demo. It's great. Definitely picking up Bioshock when it gets released.

I tried out the demo but it's just not my kind of game. Also my daughter was in the room while I was playing the demo and she got freaked out. I didn't think it was that scary though.
