If you dont own a Wi-fi USB connector you might not be able to answer this so continue reading at the risk of wasting your time.

Here it goes-??whenever i install my Wi-Fi connector software onto my computer the internet goes dead on the computers.??the USB connector will still work just like its supposed to and give me Wi-Fi for my DS, its just that its bugs the heck outta my family and they constantly uninstall it.??Has anyone else here had the same problem or know how to fix it???or is that supposed to happen and i just missed out on that piece of information somehow?

I've never had one,, but I'm guessing that the WiFi connector works like a mini WiFi Hub, trying to assign IPs, and it might be fighting with an existing wireless network that you have going.

This is assuming that your computer is directly wired to the modem through a wireless router, and everyone else connects wirelessly. If that is the case, you should just try to connection via the wireless router. If that is not the case, then please tell us what kind of setup you have.

well i have a USB connector i had trouble the other way around

i couldnt get internet access through wi-fi (dont worry though - its sorted now)

all of my computers are wired together through a LinkSys router. I dont have wireless internet.

Is the PC that the WiFi adaptor is plugged into able to access the internet?

nope. neither of the computers are able to get internet. I hope the same thing doesnt happen when i hook up my Wii to the internet. I might just have to convince the parents that wireless connection is the way to go.

Look for updates for the adaptor?

ya i just checked for updates. there dont appear to be any and there is nothing helpful in the little booklet that came with the adapter. i just sent an e-mail to the tech support people so hopefully that will help.
