Allright there has been an update, EA announced that they instead of working on 07 will start working on NBA Live 08, heres the small article I found on IGN:
Are you ready for rim-rocking on the Wii? Publisher Electronic Arts has not officially announced a version of its basketball franchise for this platform, but its dedication to bringing most its key franchises has the likelihood that the system will see NBA Live in the 2007/2008 edition of the game.
NOTE: This game has been confirmed to be in development -- check back for updates.
But what do you think will happen, will it use the motion sensor or classic? Will it be successful or not?

i think theyll do sumthin great with the dunking contest and the wiimote
Yeah but I think it will be a little like Wario Ware with the Slaming and the Dunking
yeah your right, but how would u play a normal game
Well for shooting put up the wii-mote I guess and Run with the Nunchuck
i think the wii will have its parts in the game. definately when ur shooting ull probably use the wiimote. i mean y not use it like that. u can practically do everything else with it
I don't think it will it will be complicated :|
I think it will be kind of easy since wiiSports showed how fluidly the wiimote works with sports.
The Back B button will BE THE SHOOTING BUTTON

Yup or maybe you can make the form of shooting with a flick of the remote imitating how you take a shot.
Hmm, those people at nintendo always think of new ways to improve gaming. My opinion would be yes, they could do it and it not be a flop. I myself am not a huge fan of sports, but i'll deff give this a rental if it gets good reviews.
They could dumb it down by using the nunckuk to move, left and right on the nunchuk to fake, left and right on the wii-mote to cut (or vice versa), up to go up for a shot/dunk, down to throw down/release shot. That would be satisfactory imo. Also, on D up to block, left right to steal, down to take charge/block out. Crap, I didn't even use a button. A to pass. D-pad for schemes, B as an alternate to shoot. C and Z for whatever else is needed (alley-oop & switch players?).
im waiting on some visuals, curious how the games going to look! I hope you dont have to do a huge arch to shoot the ball every time. that would be tiresome after awhile.
But surely will use things like the juke and stiff arm in Madden. Probably to crossover or do a spin move, or back into your player to drive to the hoop.
My best guess is defense. Blocking and stealing could be something like
Blocking=hold B and swing the remote
Stealing=hold A and swing the remote
?
Heh, all we can do is sit back and see what the big boys have in store for us. You can do it Nintendo!
i havent ever liked b-ball games but i might check this one out
I like almost all sports games including basketball as well but have to admit that I have lost interest in them. I still remember the old days of playing basketball games such as NBA Jams or going back even further and playing Double Dribble. Still, I'd give it a try with Wiimote usage and maybe it would make me interested again.
forgot about double dribble...that was a blast

Nice the controls like that would be pretty neat.
Psst and i remember a magazine saying that the Wii couldnt handle sports game with its lack of buttons. you made an example and some buttons were left. HAHA mag people that i dont remember!
