I thought it was just the preorder pricing, but just making sure we weren't getting jipped like some other gamers (*cough-cough*, Xbox 360 *cough-cough* Sony PS3... not to name names or anything, heh). Oh, and happy 800th post D4rkDrag0on! Jusy noticed it, that's all.

I won't be too surprised if it is true, but I won't care too much either, its not that much more money to shell out.
All first party games are $50 and third party devolpers can set there own price but most i have seen are $50. I know because i have preorderd multiple games(zelda,red steel, exitetruck) and all were 53.00 that includes tax

Nintendo has confirmed first party titles to be no more than $50, and the third-parties are free to set their price, but I'm sure they'll go with $50 as well.
They've had the $59 price marked even before Nintendo announced anything. So like somebody already said, they're probably just waiting for official word.
