Rumors are circulating that the Wii-mote may have a microphone in addition to built in speaker, enabling the Wii to make Voice Over IP calls. It looks like Nintendo went on a domain name buy spree, picking up
http://WiiKaraoke.com, among others. Why would they register such a domain without a microphone attachment of some kind?
It could be the base of a video phone system, if the rumored camera releases as well. As always, these are rumors, but we will keep you up to date as more information surfaces!

hmmm, i would guess, Nintendo is more likely to create a mic (nunchuck like) attachment rather than inbuilt...and if this this is the case i would only expect its use to be in games like singstar.

I can definately see Wii partnering with Skype of Google Talk. Just another selling point to parents or anyone else for that matter. But parents might find it handy not having their kids tie up the phone lines. 8)
Yes, but a microphone for karaoke can't stop there. It could use the same powers as the Ds. Think of the possibilities!!!!

For the Wario Ware Twisted game, there are some mini games that require you to sing or stear a car by saying left, right (like in Mario Party).

only sucky thing about the whole mic work on the DS is that you can only chat with your buddies and not the whole world... i dont want to put EVERYBODY on my buddy list.
