I just picked up a black DS Lite yesterday. I currently own a white DS Lite. In comparing the two bottom screens of the two units, the Black DS Lite's bottom screen is noticably of poorer quality than the white one I own.
- less bright
- orange tint to it
- kind of washed out (but that may be attributed to the lower brightness and tint)
Overall, it sucks when stacked side by side with my current white DS. I am disappointed and plan on returning it to Future Crap today. Anyone else experience this?

I don't have a DS Lite. I'm perfectly happy with my regular DS. I don't see why everyone is trading everything away when a different model of the same product comes out...

DS Lite is 10x better in every respect than the origianl DS.
Black vs. White... no difference, just pure vanity and preference. (or in my case a bad batch with an inferior screen)

The screens are brighter, it feels better in your pocket, the battert life is longer, and let's not forget that it attracts the ladies. =) With my O.G. DS girls wouldn't even wanna know what it was... SOME did but not a lot. When I got my hands on the DS Lite, for the first week, girls played it more than I did. =\
I will agree, trading OG DS for the lite is worthwhile for the screen alone, much less the size, style, and stylus. I didn't really trade, but kept both to play against people without!
I will get a DS lite after my wii expenses have been recovered
I traded my old ds new for the new lite. I got a black one and mine has no tint or whatsoever on it.
The one I played was fine. I just think whoever sold you that one hated you.

DSLites rock. I find it so much more comfortable to play games, the stylus is light years better, screen brightness and size rocks. In general the DSLite rapes the original DS.
yea I like it a lot just fix the hindges and I hate when Dirt appears on the L1 Buttons
My DSLite has not had one problem so far. Its still clean, hinges haven't cracked and screen isn't scratched.
Don't see why anybody would want to get a black DS Lite. Obviously since it is black it is going to smudge up anyway (or one would think.) It may look sleek, but no point getting it.
Black DSLites get smudged.
White DSLites get dirty.
Its kinda lose-lose and will come down to how much care you take.
I would rather still get a Black one the dirt is so noticable
