I saw the external HD-dvd player also, and that really just seems like a sad afterthought. I mean they knew Sony was coming out with Blue-ray, so they should have waited a little longer to bundle it with the 360. As for the rest...Halo 3 will be great, but I'm not buying a 360 just for that. The new Hitman game looked like an Xbox game. Sad showing for microsoft, but they blew their load at the last E3, and now just trying to keep people interested

Xbox 360 seems like a good deal, but it costs a little much and there aren't that many games i'm interested in

That's the main reason I do not play the 360 often... the graphics are nice, but the quality of the games just isn't there. It's all of the same types of games, just more polished than previous versions.

Nothing can compare to Oblivion this soon. My friend has it, and it is incredible. One of the best games ever.

it was all about their upcoming titles. if anything, it showed titles that were previously exclusive to sony now showing up on the 360. most of the sequels shown were multiplatform with some of them even coming to the wii.

I'm waiting for some good games to come out on the 360. THere aren't any out now and wont be for awhile

I watched some previews Ondemand on 360 games. Most were sequals or remakes, nothing to new besides graphics.
Microsoft continues to disapoint me.

i hope youre not saying that the wii wont have sequals or remakes.
05-30-2006, 04:47 PM
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying that the 360 remakes are not innovative. I rarely touch the 360. That being said, unless there is a group over, I don't touch the Gamecube much either. Most of my gaming time, for now at least, comes from the DS.

well adding the wiimote function at the very last minute to a game(zelda:TP) that was supposed to be released for the GC isnt really all that innovative either.
05-31-2006, 10:54 PM
It will still be released for the GC, but I would hardly say the Wii version is last minute. My preordered copy of LoZ:TP was suppose to be here almost a year ago, but due to delays (because of the extra content), it has been pushed back from Aug 05 to Nov 06

THey showed off some good games like Gears of War and Bioshock, but nothing big.

what would you consider 'big'?

The best Game i saw was most likely Gears of War but I didnt find it that interesting

True, MS didn't really show off anything new or even in the same innovative vein as Nintendo (with more details on the Wii than previous press releases).
However, the list of upcoming games is increadible. Those of us who already have the 360 were priviledged to download exclusive E3 content via XBL. I must have downloaded over a dozen trailers for games and the Lost Planet playable demo. So here's what I know about:
1. Lost Planet (duh!). Capcom has a hit franchise on their hands here. This is gonna be awesome!
2. Gears of War. As I posted elsewhere, a high school associate of mine (Cliffy B) is the head honcho for this one. Its gonna rock BIG time.
3. Bioshock. Though I never played its predecessor, by all accounts this is one of THE reasons to own a 360.
4. Fable 2. Now that they've got Lionhead Studios under their belt, and have had time to fix all the bugs from the original Fable, you can bet that this will be an extremely immersive, epic fantasy game for a system that's kinda sorta starving for a decent fantasy library.
5. Viva Pinata. I know its kiddy, but the open-endedness of the game, the potential for online trading and customization (not to mention the graphics and gameplay) have even my non-gamer wife interested.
6. Halo 3. This goes without saying.
7. GTA4. Personally, I could care less, but the gaming population as a whole is thrilled to see GTA arrive on the xbox as soon as it will arrive on the PS3 (not way later, like GTA3 and its counterparts did).
8. Over G Fighters. Finally! A modern flight combat sim. This could be the game that knocks Ace Combat off the top (don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ace Combat 4...still need to play 5).
9. Chromehounds. Really big, really customizable robots!? Blowing stuff up!? Come on guys, that's got some potential!
10. Culdcept Saga. One of my personal favorites from the PS2. I can't wait for this one to get out.
11. Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Superhero teams a la Heroclix. Nuff said!
12. Call of Duty 3. I've got COD2 right now and its incredible (and I DON'T own an HDTV, btw).
13. Ninty Nine Nights (or N3). Finally a Dynasty Warriors game done right! Cover the battlefield with the bodies of thousands of your enemies as you race through HUGE battles. My kinda hack n' slash.
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. A lot of these titles are new, some innovative and some are coming out for more than just the xbox, but there's no denying that this list is impressive, and as more details become available, they're only going to look better.

Microsoft doesn't really need to make as many big announcements as Sony or Nintendo because Microsoft currently is winning, because there's not competition. MS is letting their walking do the talking. And oh man the HD-DVD addon is dumb. It's not even going to be compatible with games, only movies.

I've posted this before, but I'll do so again. Many of the people I know of that have a 360 either don't play it anymore or have sent it back to be repaired many times. Microsoft's walk, is that they came out with a system way too soon, and will pay the price when more polished systems come out this fall and winter.
