That's just the little side knife. Uhh... I forgot what it's called... Tanto? Anyway, it's just there when you're using one-handed weapons.
Ah.
After seeing the last picture, I now see what you're talking about.
That was just the side knife. When in a sword battle, you use it to parry an attack, leaving you to attack for yourself.
It's also used to block. It's controlled by the accelerometer in the analog stick attachment.
oh man, you guys didnt know? in red steel you can use the wiimote as a gun and the nunchuck as a sword at the same time, dual weilded, or both controls as 2 swords Big Grin

enjoy
wicked liking it Big Grin getting exciting about the gameplay of this game looks amazing
This game seriously impresses me more and more every time I see it, it is going to be one hell of a fun game to play.
Thanks! I can't wait to play a shooting/ sword fighting game where I move in real life. I will love it! Wink
Why did I come into this thread!?

Not that it is a bad thing, it just makes me want to play it even MORE! Sad Oh well, time will pass.

The graphics look good enough to me and I can't wait to play this game!
If the smaller blade is a knife, then you're correct: its a tanto.

If its a shortsword, then its the wakizashi; companion to the katana (both were carried by samurai, forming the paired duo: daisho).
yeah the thing in his right hand in the second picture is a pistol, so it seems that "playing with my wii" is probably right, use the nunchuk for the sword and the wiimote for the pistol, that would be awsome. If you look on the wii preview online press kit (was announced on the news on this site) you can find the pictures of it and other games, plus some detailed info. Smile

Keyword is "would be" awesome. I dont see how they could make that work smoothly. How would you possibly be able to aim the pistol if you're controlling it with the nunchuk.

thats a good point and ont that i wont even attempt to answer but i will say this:
Dual wielding still sounds great Really Happy
