Exactly, as if Take Two and Rockstar didn't look at the Wiimote and go "Hmm... Table Tennis would rock on the Wii."
I seriously doubt it'll be GTA.
Why is there such a big fuss over this? Nintendo wants the Wii to not be just a kiddie consoles so they are trying to get some more adult games onto the Wii. Let 'em do it. It's not like the day it's released children are going to automaticly become corrupted.
It's not on the top of my gaming list, but if this game is made for the Wii. I wil probally get it. Cool news!

Bogus or not bogus?: Not bogus that Take-Two and Nintendo are talking. As for GTA on the Wii? The once-unthinkable notion now appears to be a possibility.
We have a possiblility that it will come, look at the bottom of the article.
Sounds good though, I hope it really does make it to the Wii!
Your right, its possible... but I still think theres a higher chance we'll see Table Tennis come to the Wii.
The reason Rockstar didn't port some games to Nintendo was probably b/c Nintendo has that "No extreme violence or sexuality" rule. But now Nintendo has thrown that rule out the window. So GTA is a big possibility. I mean it would really be a good strategy for both companies; The Wii is gaining a serious pre-release momentum and GTA has a huge fanbase. So if you put both those 2 together you get video game history. So I would expect a lot of Rockstar Nintendo collaborations in the future.
jesus man, whenever some1 makes a thread about what i allready posted, it usually does better than mine.
to what WizKid saied...yes its very possible for the GTA series to come to the wii. Its just that people dont believe it because they are so used to not seeing rockstar or the GTA series involved with nintendo, that as soon as they see the word GTA and nintendo together, they immediatly go "no way dude". If nintendo can change its policy, which they have a bit, they will get it specially if the console is succesfull, which will happen.
I don't doubt that we'll see Rockstar + Nintendo work in the future. And I do think we may see a GTA on the Wii one day, but I don't really know if it'll be the next one. Maybe we'll get a spin off like Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories... maybe the Wii will get a San Andreas spin-off... I don't know the name of the city, but put stories on the end and you may have it lol.
GTA games are good in my mind. they are the only games i have ever beaten. all other games i get bored of them put them away and buy a new game and froget about the old one.
i can definately see mixed reactions to this. there are going to be a bunch of people who will love this. while the GTA series has dabbeled with nintendo's protable systems it has never made a console release. I guess there is a certain demographic out there that needs the fun and party like feel that nintnedo has offered us, but some of these people also need senseless violence. if GTA does cross on the Wii then i could see the sales of PS3 being affected by this. alot of people buy both nintendo and sony, with most of them preffering nintendo, but gettting a fill of their blood lust from the later. hopefully this will keep the fringe sony gamers from supporting the PS3. but then again im sure there are hardcore nintendo fans that wont like this. But whatever, what the hell do i know

Thats fine for you... I'd like GTA if it had more story, but it doesn't... it doesn't hold my interest as a gamer. It has been essentially the same for too long now. I want change in the GTA series to revive my interest... otherwise the series is DEAD to me.
Since when does being a hardcore Nintendo fan require one to give preference to non-violent, "childish" games. And what about Nintendo deciding to get a game like GTA offends hardcore Nintendo fans? Correct me if I'm reading this wrong?!!?
If Nintendo continues to pander only to it's niche market, the Gamecube will be it's greatest success in the last ten years. I thin it's critical that Nintendo reaches out in both directions to gamers and non-gamers alike. San Andreas sold 1 million copies in the first nine - minuets after it's release. In fact, since Sony has come on the scene, the best three selling games are Gran Turismo, Vice City and then San Andreas. These are the hard numbers and not the nostalgic brand loyalty of a hard core nintendo gamer. I really would like to see Nintendo do well, and I think making this addition would only help the system become successful. It is a business after all.
If Nintendo getting GTA "offends" fans then they need to grow up, because if it does happen then at least its a sign of Nintendo evolving. I'm not a fan of GTA, in fact I can say I now hate it with its boring, repetitive action and uninspiring stories.
BUT that having been said, it'd draw in more of those casual gamers if they could pick up a GTA game for a cheap console like the Wii.
But I think its the Table Tennis game first purely because Rockstar might want to play around with working that game with the Wiimote... but there is a possibility GTA will come after that, if it happens it happens... if it doesn't then it doesn't.
