Sony BMG Music Entertainment is giving away an Xbox 360 in promotion of Jessica Simpson's new album, "A Public Affair". Strange that Sony would be giving awway their competitor's product instead of maybe giving someone a PS3 or at least a voucher that would let them pick it up for free at launch.

the sony music crew probally knows little about the ps3 anyway so it would make sense for them to give out a 360.

also jessica simpson is currently the "artist of the month" on xbox live which means that sony is paying MS to promote her music vid on the xbox.

just because they are competitors on one market doesn't mean that it spreads to other parts.

i dont understand why would they have to give away a videogame console? wouldn't an iPod make more sense since it deals more with music

Yeah but Sony BMG doesnt compete with the 360. Sony Computer Entertainment of America does. Sony's music department does compete with Apple and the iPod and Sony's still a bit bitter that Apple took their portable music crown after the iPod overtook the Walkman. If they were going to give away an MP3 player it would probably be a Sony Walkman.
