Shouldn't the New member thread be at the top of the board so that they can go ahead and post on it?

Maybe we should move the entire 'General' section. Usually that's the first section I see when I go into a forum, then it finally breaks down into specific parts.

From what I've worked with on a forum: Nothing to cry over.
It only takes a couple minutes, or less.

I like this idea. Of course, it's just me.

And after the Wii is released with more news and this forum explodes with members:

I'd personally hide the news portal forum so that people pay more attention to the actual news portal >

also, If I'm going to make any of my really special new bits planned, I'm going to need to write some code to make the individual game forums take up less space.... or just make them sub-forums.... as there are going to be a lot of game forums, real quick, if we're not careful

I'm not sure about placing things like Off Topic above the Wii forum. I'd like to move the New Members area up, but most likely by taking it out of general. As for coding something special for the game forums, yes, lets do that on the next rollout as we're about to leave 1.8!

Or we could go,

- Win a Nintendo Wii
- New Member Introductions
- Nintendo Wii

and just leave everything else as it is just moving the New Member introductions. Would that maybe be better?
