Oblivion.. that's an insanely addicting game. In my case however. I couldn't get off of it.. however I love games that enable you to play online.. I can only think back to the Diablo days.. Ahh those were the days when I sat on my PC all day... even though I kinda still do when I'm away from my Wii. Yeah, I don't play games that cost money.. I already paid for it.. no way am I forking over my hard earned cash to pay for it anymore.
WoW is worse than any drug you can find. Most addicting thing in the world. One reason is because you are basically having the best time of your life and just dont see a reason to do anything else (what happened to me once i was into it) Ever since i bought the game (when it came out) i couldn't stop playing. The game even gets 100 times more addicting once you start raiding (like i did). I played about 75Days (yes, days, meaning 75*24=1800 hours) Which surpases the amount of play tiime of any game i have ever played by a million. I quit the game around june because it was taking over my life.
Now there are more WoW subsribers than xbox 360s sold, so WoW should count as a separate competitor, specially since burning crusade is coming out.
How can you say wow is more accticting than any drug you can find? I've played WoW on and off since Sept 05, i stoped playing in January or a month or two, quit playing again from june til sept, now i stoped playing again cuz i knew i wouldn't be playing it cuz i gotta wii.... now if your comparing this to a drug i "quit" cold turkey.... try doing heroin (or something like that) and quitting cold turkey, then lemme know if quitting wow was worse. for some reason i think you'll have a harder time with heroin. i hate when people say that wow is worse than drugs, i stop playing cuz sometimes the game just gets boring at certain points i feel like im doing the same quests over and over. and i stop playing with no problem. but after not playing for months the game will be fun again for awhile, so ill pick it up again... like like any other game. but anyways, to answer the orginal post, yes i think im gonna stop playing WoW for a while to play Wii
He's just making an overexaggerated point. You didnt have to take it literally. Yes it really is addicting I played for 2 years and I quit in sept. Cuz school was getting touger and Wow was really taking up most of my time. I advise people to stay away from that game. I like the wii because i can just stop and save and continue again another day. With wow its a timesink and your competing with other players for gear.
Stick to your wii people. I havent open zelda yet, waiting for finals is over so i can really take my time and get into the game.
Dude, the people that you see that are "addicted to WoW" are a very small portion of the people who play Ive played it for 1 year, am at level 42 and nothings happened to me. I still hang out with my friends, have a beautiful girlfriend who also plays the game, am in pretty good fitness for a lean body type... so on. What Im trying tto to say is: dont listen to those steryotypes and if you try a free trial most people find they like it, and dont worry, if youre an intelligent human being it wont suck you in.
Back on topic. I will stop playing for a bit to spend more time on the wii, which i actually might get addicted to, but Ill still play the greatness that is WoW, just even more casually than i already do.

Yes so your saying a small portion of the 7 million subscribers are addicted. They want to pay 15 dollars a month to play a game and theyres only a small portion of them. That just doesnt add up. Wow, was a problem between me and my gf so that for a fact i know for sure its a serious problem. My friends still play it. Im just happy I do not have the urge to play it anymore.
It's only a problem if you let it be a problem. I play. I've also beaten all the Wii games that are out that I wanted to play and will continue to do so as they are released. I also have a job and go to school. It's just about time management. I've played since retail release and I'll be in line for the midnight release of expansion.
WoW is dumb. For people who are just as equally if not dumber. Who pays for a game then pays $15.00 a month to continue playing?
OH YEA! A MORON!
I played WoW for a total of 2 hours (played at my cousins house) seriously, if you can get past the first 3 hours of gameplay, hurrah for you.
If you think attacking animals for 3 hours straight just to get to lvl 10 is fun, the rest might be overwhelming. I personally wouldn't know, I couldn't stand it.
I leveled once and went back to twidling my thumbs. My cousin stopped playing after a week as well, and my two friends stopped playing after a month.
The thing that really turned me off is the 15$ a month, as if paying 60$ for the game in the first place isn't enough.
Wii beats WoW to death in my opinion.
wii all the way i don't see any fun in world of warcraft.
WoW is very addicting, but I still find enough time to play my Wii at least 10 hours a week (compared to 20+ hours of WoW). All while having a job and keeping on top of my school work.
WoW sucks!
One reason I stopped hanging out with some of my friends, as though they think it's entertaining to watch them quest.
I hope WoW addicts eyeballs fall out.
Wii wins because its a whole system.
One game can't beat a system.
i wanted to try the trial. but to download it takes 56 HOURS
THATS NUCKING FUTS
actually WoW is holding me back from playing my wii, i love the game so much, i can never get to my wii, so i always use it to play music (finetune) as i play, lol. when i get bored of WoW (pshh...ya right) ill play my wii nonstop, besides theres no real good games that i want for it now, the DBZ game is the only one im truly intrested in. When SSBB and other RPGs come on the market ill play the Wii a lot more, especially when online play happens....

i and btw to add to what i said as i read some of these posts. Most of you have never played the game, and all you know is its 15 bucks a month. yes it is some money to pay i agree, but dont yell about it....if u dont like it dont play it...woohoo why would u pay for a game your not crazy about. besides the people who actually play it usually have something called money, for you people who claim to be broke and play 2d rpg's and have fun . more power to you, but i live in the here and now, not 6 years ago...try to find a free mmorpg game thats fully 3D and is fun. O thats right you cant. either 1 you dont like mmorpg games to begin with. (like that one kid said, "killing monsters for 3 hours to get to level 10", well if u said that you don't get the point of MMORPGs nor do u enjoy them it has nothing to do with the price, besides the point of making a con about the game), or 2 your broke and can't afford a good quality mmorpg (in this case, you should get something called a job, or get a rich g/f (lol) or something, just dont complain)
THE END
I downloaded WoW a while ago and played some cracked servers with it. It was fun, but i didnt really pick up on it. And in 2 hours later i was back on Guild Wars.
WoW sucks!

thats a whole lotta eyeballs. 14 million eyeballs(7 million subscribers).
$15 X 12 months = $180
you can buy 3 wii games and i can guarantee you wont be playing either one of those for 12 months straight.
lineage2 was/is better than WoW for real addicts but meh, GIVE UP ALL MMORPGS evil evil evil evil the Wii is the light COME INTO THE LIGHT
Ya, the game can be pretty addicting at the lower lvls, but once your up to the higher lvls like 55+ it just gets boring doing all that grinding, and then once you max out doing raids for ever just trying to get your tier set, or money for your 5k mount. Other than that its pretty fun

.
I played WoW from release until the week of Thanksgiving last year. I was Beta testing the Expansion Pack and decided I wasn't thrilled with where the game was heading. In the release version I had multiple lvl 60's, my main had complete Tier 2 and multiple items from AQ etc, I was one of the first on my server to complete the Hunter Epic quest for the bow/staff, had basically all the best rings, trinkets etc. My numbers were through the roof both stats and DPS etc. Started playing the Beta and got to lvl 67 and decided I'd had enough. I canceled my account and it still has close to 2k gold on it.
The game itself gets "addicting" because there's always something to do. When you're in a high end raiding guild there is always something that needs to be done. You need to farm mats, or you need to farm gold etc. The game just becomes very time consuming. It never took over my life, I was still playing paintball tournaments, reffing tournaments, working a full week, spending time with my wife and daughter (going to movies, out to eat etc). I'm glad I quit as it did give me more free time away from my PC, but I won't bash on the people who still play.
