I will never bow... to no one, except a giant golden statue of myself lol. Joking of course, International fights are gonna bring new levels of gameplay to Smash. But you'll find local tourney's will still provide the BIGGER challenges.
I can think of a few ideas for International battles:
Setup like the World Martial Arts Tournament in DBZ:
3 brackets, one each from America, Europe/Aussies, and Asia, and the best fighters ducke it out to get to the major worldwide tournament. I'd say maybe 64 people could get in, and either be one-on-one, or a 4 way battle royale. There could be stipulations (special rules), like a double-elimination tourney.
They could hold this every year to see who is the best smasher.
2. Best of ________
Every month, the rankings would show who is the best of what area, so they duke it out to see who truly is the best, and then the winners of each region plus one randomly selected runner-up will get to battle in a free for all to see who is the best in the world.
I think you mean biweekly matches, which I would like to do... if we can get enough people involved. The region thing sounds cool but that's only if we have enough players to make up a decent enough pool of players for each region.
well, maybe more because there is no confirmed release of SSBB
5 months from now would be march, and would fall in that early 2007 release.

I think a good tournament would be to make character tournaments, where you have people only able to pick Mario, and the best Mario player gets to move on to the final character tournament where each person who is best with their character go head-to-head against other people who do specifically well with the character they chose.
