I don't understand why ppl don't like Bush! D:
really? are you not aware of the war thats happening over seas? the same war in which over 5000 soldiers have died, tht has lasted five years, and we still havent accomplished our goal.
I never should have gone home to vote. I may have still had a car at the end of the day.

I still like Bush.
In a Utopianism, everything is perfect. But there are things that fight such perfect notions--such as evil, greed, envy, and ego.

:O But soldiers are dying for nothing!
Saddam needed to be removed, regardless of what the reason was that we went in.
1) i hated the commercials. i think NM had one of the most annoying ones. "...stay the course...(repeat 12 times in 15 seconds)"
2) there's really not an option of a Utopia. Utopias are perfect but humans are not, so it canNOT work.
3) technically, a communistic society is what you would consider an "anarchy." communism does not have a government. the people run and share everything. (a note for everyone because it seriously p*sses me off: there has never, Never, NEVER been a true communist nation on earth. Russia, China and other "Red" countries were Communist, which were actually based on a socialist idea where the government controls everything)
4) why does America need change? because men are dying over seas. ANY war is a horrible thing to me. no matter the reason for the war, there are people dying. no one deserves that
5) did Hussein need to be dealt with? yes. but he IS dealt with now. there's really nothing more our troops can do in Iraq. now they are just dying by bombs and bullets. i hate all wars, but i understand the need for them at some instances, but they've done their job. too many families have lost a member of that family. we need to stop losing good men.
6) Democrats for the most part do not think the war was stupid or pointless or whatever. they DO want to atleast start getting the troops out of the country though. that's why i would've voted Dem. if i were registered to vote in NM. anyone who waited for a father or other relative to return from a war and worried if they would ever come back knows how i feel

Excatly. My brother went to Iraq, thank god he's alive.
?... That seems like a reason to me.
it's a lack of good reason. last time i checked all types of government become inefficient and crumble w/ time. so i guess anyone that anyone that supports socialism, democracy, communism, monarchy, dictatorship or any other form of government is an idiot then, since those won't work out perfectly in the end either.
So then, everyone is an idiot?
not in my opinion, but certainly if you follow poet's logic all political ideologies are for idiots b/c none of the systems will last forever

1. Agreed.
2. Agreed.
3. There has never been a true communistic society because power corrupts. See number 2.
4. War serves it purpose. It settles disputes efficently, reduces overpopulation, improves economies, shifts power, etc. However, by your reasoning, dying is bad. A lack of a just war can cause more death. Imagine the critism that a country would have received for forcefully removing Hitler from power in 1938. Now look at what he accomplished before we stopped ignoring the signs.
5. Removing the troops from Iraq even now would be a terrible mistake, and even the Democrats know that. Until the Iraqis have a stable government that can support itself, we will have to be there. Otherwise, the country will crumble and the people we made angry will retake power by force with every sight aimed at the US.
6. The Republicans want to get the troops home too. However, they can see past the next election. Democrats love to make popular promises just because of puplic opionon, but it may not always be the best for the people.
I worry that the Democrats worked so hard to regain control and are so suprised that they did, that they are not sure where to go from here. The fact that their campaign won means that the average voter thinks the country needs a change. What do they plan to change?
