Seeing as the Wii is wireless, is it not possible to have more than four controllers? The PS3 has support for up to 7 controllers (7 devices being the limit for Bluetooth connectivity, which is how the PS3 controller works).
This is fantastic news - something to keep people going while I wait for SSBB and SMG. Not me, of course - I'm immigrating soon so buying a Wii now would be silly.
Well I don't think they would have made a mistake like that and it has gone unnoticed for that long... and I didn't know it ws possible to have more than 4 controller, I thought those 4 lights on the wiimote meant you had to be one of the 4 players.
Yeah, im sure you could only have 4 players ( 4 lights...)

i know how the 5 players would work out:
in some of the mini games you will have to hand-off the controller to another person instead of 4 seperate controllers being used. this would work, because a lot of the games probably dont involved 2-5 people on one screen, but 2-5 people exchanging the controller would work

Hmm I dunno, then why would they put 2-5? If you passed the controller around it should be 2-unlimited cause obviously if u have six people you could pass it to everyone in the room...I'm still confused with the 5.
i dont know why they have only five either, but im pretty sure that's how they make it so that 5 people could play
