Full Version: Installation Disc?

Yesterday I got the Toys R' Us Christmas catalogue in the mail and I flipped right to the back where I knew they kept all their video gaming stuff. On page 55 there's an ad for the Wii and a list of what comes with it. Everything seems normal until you get to the second last item on the list which says "Installation disc". A little while ago we found images of the Wii's box that said the Wii would come with a start up disc. Many people speculated that this would be Wii Sports or something like that. But in the Toys "R" Us rundown the installation disc and Wii Sports are two seperate items. Also this is a Canadian Toys R" Us booklet and it's unknown if this was just a mistake on their part.
More on this as it develops.

UPDATE: Joystiq reports that the Wii installation disc is in fact a set up disc. They don't have any concrete evidence of what purpose it may serve but there is speculation of a last minute firmware update.

Wii Startup Disc is (surprise!) a set up disk - Joystiq

Firmware since the design became RTM?
Installation for the PC I am sure since it's going to have Net Access
Update

Nah, it works independant of the computer

I'm pretty sure they would rather use a disc than use that precious 512MB flash memory to store configuration software. Atleast I would, because it's smart.
it could be to download the information onto the wii. or its for extra things u want to install into wii like games. possibly something like that

No, you cannot even use the Wii until you insert the Start-Up disc.
