Hmm... closed mind? Methinks so.
All the video game companies are amazing this gen, but Japan has got the right idea... because they have the same idea as me, PSWii. Then XB360 much later down the track.
You continue being American if you wish, but you'll find yourself missing out some things.

Not caring about the japanese is crazy, they have some of the BEST game developers you could ever hope to find, and Its important for a console to do well there so they can get those good ass devs.

Yea Japanese developers IMO own americans in everything but FPS. Also, I don't think there's any chance for 360 to outsell PS3 in Japan. But in America, the opposite can be said.

FPS own and as long as microsoft is doing good enough in Japan, i could care less that they prefer sony

buy america is way way way bigger than japan so then what you say is that 360 is the winner of the next gen. (which is undermining the Wii)

It's not close minded. I dont care how well MS does in Japan, they have enough money to keep on going regardless of what the Japanese think of them its not even their main market. And I enjoy my Xbox and it's games so if a majority of people in Japan don't enjoy Halo or Gears of War what does it matter to me.
I remember a Japanese person once asking how people in the US can stand playing the same thing over and over (FPS's.) If you dont think it's close minded to say an entire genre is the same thing then I dunno what to tell you.
And what Smash said you kinda all added your spin on that. I dont care what the Japanese prefer either, I care what they keep bringing to me. If they play what I like is of no concern to me but of course I care what they produce for me to play.
To be on topic I really think that Wii may take the greater part of the Japanese market. They will all eventually have to give in when they want their RPG's and Final Fantasy's but for a while it's going to just be dominated by Nintendo. It's going to be no question who will be winning up until about mid 2007.
