As you can see this week's issue is overflowing with WiiLoaded news articles. The reason for this is that after much discussion WiiLoaded's news portal will now stay true to the portal and blog mentallity. Now almost any Wii news will be posted up in the Portal no matter how big or how small. This change could also affect the WiiLoad. With this new approach the "News Snippets" section could become useless so this may be the final WiiLoad issue with a Snippets section but that's not 100% certain yet. Now that I think about it I never was too fond of the News Snippets thing (eventhough I came up with it). By the time the WiiLoad is posted it's already become old news, so this could fix that.
You'll notice that on the forum the News Section has also changed. The "News Reporter Auditions" forum has been converted into a "News Submission" area. Here all members will be able to submit a news story for the portal. There is still a standard expected for submissions. You will need to give a little bit of information on what it is that you're submitting and images will help a lot. Your submission will be reviewed, edited, and maybe even be added to by the News Crew. As I mentioned nothing is set in stone yet and we're going to see how the News Submission forum works out. If we need to we will bring back the Audtions.
WiiLoaded is still looking for a dedicated News Crew team so your submissions are still in a way an audtion for making it into the crew. We are now down to 2 reporters and myself so we're in need of people to help us out. The site is still undergoing a large shuffling so that we can have everything set up for the site's "real launch" on November 19th.
Speaking of staff, nickname:Flipper has recently been made WiiLoaded's second Sage, to give Cloud some company. Other staff positions are still being looked into so you could soon be looking at a new look WiiLoaded staff. And did I mention that we're looking for new news crew members?
Another new part of the site, which I just found last minute (I've had to come back to this and edit the commentary because new stuff keeps popping up), is that D4rkDrago0n has created the first version of the WiiLoaded Media Player which you can use to watch the Super Smash Bros. Brawl video on the Portal.
Now as for the news, it was great to see so many news articles posted on the site and to also see submissions from someone who isn't called Kindrik or z6joker9 (D4rk and jonathanober). What really seems to be the big news this week is the announcement of every region's Virtual Console launch lists. However Japan has by far the best list which leaves us wondering why we couldn't get the same games they have. And CVG also interviewed Nintendo about the Virtaul Console and picked up some great info. I won't mention too much as you'll just have to read for yourself (below). And out of the "it's about time" bin major retaillers have announced that they will begin selling Wiis at midnight on launch day. And the Twilight Princess intro video has found it's way to the internet and it should get everyone anxious for the game and the Wii.
So I have no idea what next week's issue will look like but we'll see you then. Hopefully with a few member submitted articles.
