They can resize any character, so you can't use that as an excuse.

Metaknight has wing like attachments. He glides.
Therefore they could make Ridley glide, duh.
But Ridley is like a friggin dragon Lol.
And what is Bowser like? A giant Turtle with a spikey shell.
Ridley can be made workable... if not then Sakurai is simply being lazy.
I really hope Ridley is in Brawl. If he is then I think that is enough "flying" characters.

He has heaps of moves.
Lasers, fire breath, claws, a tail to use, wings that could be used.
Quite alot of options.
What do you expect for his final smash?
His move from Metroid Prime.
He takes to the skies and flies over the arena and drops a series of bombs. Or they could replace that with his laser that he fires as he flies across the arena.
