Well i'm skeptical about both Red Steel and Zelda TP.
IGN said all sword attacks had to be done with the Wii-mote. thats what brings it down for me. I don't want to sit there and get a cramp in my wrist and hafta stop. i want to be in the plot i want to get into the game i don't want to stop because of cramps.
I would go with Zelda TP Because it is Nintendo. Nintendo knows its system more than anybody Nintendo knows how to make a game truly fun.
Red Steel i think is make or brake. meaning it could really go both ways. It is either really good or really bad. I am going to wait for a review for this one. If your into multiplayer then get it. i think it will be the new 007 (N64) multiplayer. You have to admit 007's multiplayer for nintendo 64 was very fun.
Yeah sorry i can't really help. I'm a fence rider on this subject.

TP will easily own Red Steel's ass (But Red Steel will be a solid game)
Basically it comes down to this.
TP is going to be a game that lasts on single player, I mean come on... I'm hearing 70 hrs of gameplay. While Red Steel will probably have shortlived single-player and a decent multiplayer so... which would you prefer?
I chose Zelda because I've been waiting so long for it, the game looks beautiful, the controls sound awesome and it is going to be one of the longest games I've ever experienced by the sounds of it.
TP > RS.

I agree with you Zelda will be great. it has to be to make up from the Wind Waker(too short). but zelda is one player. While Red Steel you can have fun with your friends.
I am going to get both titles, they both look great.

I'm geting both no matter what. But Zelda will probably be better just because I've been waiting for a real zelda game for 6 years (windwaker doesn't count)!

I highly doubt this game will last 100+ hours even with the side quests. My guess is more like, 50+ hours for the story and story alone, while the side-quests will rack another 20+ hours so in the end the game will be 70+ hours w/ side-quests.

For GC I guess,
But ontopic: Get Zelda TP and play the best game ever...And when you played it trough a 20 times or so buy Red Steel (Probabaly in discount or something) and you'll see that with first experiencing the true power of Nintendo you made the best choice! I m buying both cause I can but I would choose Zelda cause it's Nintendo's best software icon!

I would say if you only have enough for one game get LoZ, But this is the opinon of someone thats been playing The LoZ series for 20 years. Either one that you choose is going to be awsome. So my suggestion is no matter which one you get, Save 53 dollars as quick as you can and go get the other one!

Wind Waker DOES count.

Thanks for all the help guys, I think now I'm leaning a little towards LoZ. I'll probably be able to mooch Red Steel off of one of my friends

WindWaker does count. It was a good game, though it was too easy and way too short. it is still a Zelda game. Just with Celshaded graphics (which i loved) sure ppl were skeptical at first but when you play it you realize it was the same old zelda.

Actually they say that the story is 70 hours atleast and that the sidequest are the +...
So 100 hours sounds reasonable!

Man I don't see the issue. Its zelda, you know you're going to get an amazing gameplay experience. Red Steel could rock or it could suck but if you have the cash get both.

its up to u, but i would definately get TP first. then start saving to get red steel cuz i definately think those are the best two games out on launch. u better make up ur mind quick tho, cuz ull prolly need to pre order it very soon if u want to get stuff on the 19th.

zelda TP will beat Red Steel because (for now) RS controls are shaky and a lot of people are worried about that. on the other hand, TP has some of the most innovative controls I've seen out of the wii games so far.
TP will also have the most gameplay (70+ hrs) and the best story (IMO). RS will have better multiplayer (duh... unless the rumor of 2 players on TP is true... RS will probably still be better anyways) but there are a lot more fans of zelda because it is tried and true.
my verdict: TP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>RS
