A while back, I heard something about games that were made by Rare would not be on the Wii's virtual console. My memory's a little fuzzy, so could anyone let me know if games like Donkey Kong 64 could ever be on the Wii?

no donkey kong will be available since nintendo retained the rights .
but good games in the n64 like perfect dark , golden eye, banjo kazooie, jet will not be coming to the virtual console.

really wanted to play perfect dark original heard a lot of good things about it too...

That's too bad, but I'm relieved that I'll finally be able to finish Donkey Kong 64 after my old copy was stolen.

No major loss, I still own the originals.

Yeah, XBOX bought Rare, and they are coming out with a Banjo Kazooie for the 360, which really makes me mad...

Well its Nintendo's fault, they could have put more money towards buying Rare but they really didn't want to. And judging by the few games Rare have made for XB360 and the fact that a few members split off and made Free Radical it wasn't such a bad thing to do.

the original Perfect Dark was, IM0, the BEST FPS ever. any game that could have a 16 man multiplayer game with only 1 person playing (15 comp controlled bots) cannot compete with any other FPS. add in the option to choose from dozens of different types of bots for the comp to control and over 60 different weapons, and you just can't get any better.

and according to that, ALL Donkey Kong games can be available for the VC since Nintendo actually owns the rights, unless i'm reading this wrong
