is it my imagination or is Halo 3 the only game people are talking about for Xbox 360?
And is Halo 3 a good reason to buy an Xbox 360?
Halo 3 will be one of the greatest games in the next-gen Xbox 360 lineup, in my opinion, no! Why would you spend money on a console and one game? Sure, eventually you'll keep buying other games, but if your only buying it for Halo 3, no.
I can't stand FPS's on consoles due to the two joystick control scheme, so I never got into Halo 1 or 2 on the Xbox (played 1 on my PC and enjoyed it), and I will not likely get 3.

It's actually one of the reasons I'm excited about the Wiimote! On the other hand, I enjoy Smash Brothers so much that if the Wii released and the only game Nintendo ever made was SSBB, I would still buy it. I'm sure fans of Halo will make Halo 3 and the 360 successful.
Any intro to a game can look amazing. I still play Halo 2 on the Xbox, and love it, so a few new water effects wouldn't make me shell out 299 or 399 for a system. After watching all the coverage on G4 about E3, it seems like only a couple Xbox 360 games are getting any real attention...I don't think this is a good sign.

ps. my nephew plays 360 often, and all he talks about is perfect dark zero Wink
i dont see what the big deal is about halo in general.

my friend had a LAN party playing halo and that was cool but not cooler than any other FPS on a computer... i prefer CS.

i say BFD to the halo 3.

have you been workin on any of the banners yet?WinkBig Grin

If you don't know why Halo owns so much, you never will.
You had to be there from the beginning. It had to be the first Xbox game you got because it was launched with it. If you don't like FPS' then you're not gonna like it obviously. Regardless of what anyone says, it's an very interesting storyline with incredibly immersive gameplay. You are MC, you are the last hope. Until you've beat Halo you shouldn't be able to talk about it or it's franchise. Not like it's hard or anything, so c'mon everyone, get past The Maw.
you dont have to be there from the beginning to know that Nintendo pwns all!Wink
If I can play Halo games Halo and Halo 2 on the XBox 360, I may have to get an XBox 360 JUST to play Halo 3. I mean, the trailer kinda got me hooked for no apparent reason.
aren't there any other games rather than halo 3 that is amazing on the Xbox is it the only one?
halo is good, i enjoy playing part 2. But I wouldnt shell out any money to buy it.

It's the most talked-about one that I'm aware of.

Halo is a good series but thats the only game ive really heard that people are anticipating for the Xbox 360. sure i liked the first two but i'm not much of a halo fan
For anyone who is up-in-arms about Halo, here's my take:

In my opinion, people who play FPS on PCs have gotten used to mouse/keyboard playing (which can take some time to develop real skill at). If you play PC games, this is usually your preference.

There are so many FPS with ok graphics on PCs, that these players have seen lots of games and have a good idea of what to expect from a FPS.

So along comes Halo and from a PC viewpoint, it is:
1) not graphically better than a pc game (its on a TV, yo)
2) not a totally unique story (I think guns in space has been done before)
3) Lacking a mouse, you are stuck with just 2 "lousy" thumbsticks

So the PC crew sees halo and says big whoop. But for console gamers, halo opened up new worlds of shooting fun. Think about it. Halo is so popular for people who:

1) Like to play on their couch, with friends (not in a chair at a desk)
2) Think a mouse if for the internet, not games
3) Think a party involves 4 TVs, 4 Cords, 4 Xboxes, and 4 Games (not 16 desktops, 4.5 hubs/switches and 17 surge protectors)

Halo is not revolutionary. But it did bring FPS to a whole new group of gamers, so it's not bad if you ask me.

Interesting standpoint. I always find it funny that there is any argument over PC FPS vs console FPS. They're two entire differently styles of gameplay. I play both, and treat both differently. When I get headshots in CS I'm pwning with a type of 2D grid mouse operation, I mean that's all you're doing with a mouse; x,y. On the console it's more like a 3D camera, which is why I play inverted. It's just an entirely different feel to me. Each having entirely different positive factors.

Halo is great and all, but how many FPS's can one console have
Halo is a bad FPS, way too cliche. isnt there a FarCry game coming out to 360 that sounds good!
I might not like MIcrosoft too much, but plz don't diss Halo. It's still a great game
