I just wanted to post this to make sure everyone takes a moment to remember those who fought and died to preserve the freedom and rights you have today.
My Grand-father fought in World War 2, he landed on D-day (Juno Beach), if any of you have seen Saving Private Ryan, well my grand-father said that that opening accurately fits what he saw, men went down in rows as the doors opened on the transports. Most of them only a few years older then some of us. These soldiers fought for there country and died for their comrades. It's easy for us to picture what it must have looked like, but none of us can ever know what it must have felt like, physically and more importantly, mentally.
These men who fought suffered greatly, so the least we can do is show them the respect, of a moment of silence, to remember those who died, and live today with that sorrow which is War.
Thank you.

I just saw the Parade pass my house.
My Great Grandfather was in WWII and Got shot in the back..but survived somehow.

And what a day to be born, a little off topic, but its my little bro's birthday today!

We honor all those who have fallen, the survivors and those who are still fighting.

Well it's easy to see that many fought in the war, I mean pretty much all of us had a Grand father in the war.
It's sad to imagine what these men went through.

*moment of silence is observed*
My grandfather was in the Navy. He's still alive today, and I'm grateful for that.
God bless the troops.
Yep it does.as a matter of fact we have my moms, Moms ashed above her bed sitting in the "Contemporary container" Which is the box that its been in for like 2 years sitting above the bed..... Soon we get this huge glass of wine that she liked and.. .My favorite part.. "Drink it..." Then wash it ou t and put her ashes in it.
grandpa was in Vietnam i believe. maybe Korean. father was in first Gulf War. i'm breaking that tradition though. if you wanna support our country, more power to ya, but i'm just not cut out for it. they wouldn't let me stay anyway after discovering my lil secret. hopefully we'll get our boys back from overseas soon. just thinking about how i'd feel if a loved one of mine was lost almost makes me shed a tear....*looks towards the sky* bring 'em home safe
May God bless those Canadian souls who fought for what they believed in.
That they may find their way to heaven where they belong.
That after all the pain, sorrows and sufferment, they get to rest and get rewarded.
That they now have a place in God's arms were human consolation and reaffirmation is perpetual.
They might not speak to us, they might not hug nor kiss us, they might not be encarnated.
But they are. They were. And they will always be protecting us from everything.
Not because it is their duty, but because they love us.
Because that is what they believed in. In Family.
Because they believed in us.
Because their heaven is us.
Both of my grandfathers fought in Vietnam, one in the Air Force and one in the Marines. Both made it out alive, thank goodness, but the one in the army pretty much went insane when he came back...he died three years ago of lung cancer, ironically enough on July 2...
