this report could also suggest that gamers are waiting for the Wii big-time (since Nintendo World 2006 was a smash hit).

According to the report below (from Enterbrain), out of the 100,000 units of the PS3 shipped in Japan, only 88,400 have been sold in the first two days of launch.
They had to reduce their shipment target to 80,000 and (i think) 300,000 in the US. On palgn.com.au, they said that the 88,400 number meant that Sony exceeded their target (albeit a 3rd-revision target) by 8,400 and they've all sold.
There's a link in there to one that sold for 1220 pounds! That's like AUD$3,000!!

doesn't really surprise me too much. Japan as always been about the gaming BIG time. you think Guitar Hero made big hype in the music gaming, check out the arcade game in Japan that includes a whole drum set. once Final Fantasy games start coming out on PS3, it'll probably start selling better
release was botched in japan... but here in the states they will without a doubt sell out in a few minutes unless some small shop which ordered a ps3 goes unnoticed.
Yeah the PS3 launch in Japan did kinda slip under the radar, but it is in fact out there... lucky jerks lol. I envy them.

Yeah, I think it's funny, Japan, who loves everything Japanese, and will buy almost any console if it's Japanese, didn't buy out the PS3. Long live the Revolution!
