ri-i-i-idge racer-r-r-r!

it's ridge racer.
someone decided to compare the 360 version to the PS3 version. the final verdict is that the 360 version has better textures while the PS3 version has better "illumination". i take it as it looks brighter?

personally, the 360 version looks better to me(duh), but seriously, the lighting on the PS3 version doesn't look good/right. it is kind of a trade off though. the PS3 runs at 60FPS while the 360 runs at 30, i think. do you guys think removing some stuff to get it running at 60 was worth it?

60fps over 30fps anyday. The bigger problem I have though is how RR7 is almost exactly like RR6, when it should be new. Gay'd.
i did a quick search for RR6's framerate and i found this:

Quote:
This is the Xbox 360, right? Ok, that means we need to talk about the graphics. As expected, Ridge Racer 6 supports all widely-used HDTV modes (the game would never have passed Microsoft testing if it didn't). And the frame rate is locked at around 60fps pretty much the whole time, which is very nice. The sad part is that aside from a pretty impressive draw distance, and the inherent sharpness in picture quality one gets from using an HDTV resolution, RR6 doesn't actually have that much to offer visually.

i guess i was wrong about the 360's framerate. what can the PS3 version offer than the 360 cant, now? new tracks and cars?

Yeah it sucks because it's pretty much the same game. Screw Ridge Racer.
I think the 360 version does a better job of lighting and shading. The ps3 version is over bright... ;possibly to get people to think it looks better. Your eye is more sensitive to brightness then it is to color thus the more luminescent it is the quicker you are to judge it as the better quality. Needless to say the ps3 is still an infant and its possible for it to shape up to those same gfx(possibly better) as developers learn how to use the power of the system.
