funny thing is there was only supposed to be 600'000 wii's on sale, so either it's counting a lot of preorders who are now unhappy, or a lot of people reselling there purchased wii's.
There were 600,000 Wiis in the U.S. on sale and 200,000 in Canada & Mexico making the total 1 million for the first shipment.
They probably exceed their launch goals, or something like that.

Well, I highly doubt that people reselling their Wii's has any effect on the counter. And aside from Wii_Rulez's good point, all the launch figures are rough estimates, you can't ever expect 600,000 to mean EXACTLY 600,000... it's always a give-or-take situation. Besides, there are conflicting reports as to exactly how many units Nintendo was going to ship for launch day vs. how many they're planning to ship by the end of the year. I think 600,000 was an accurate figure for launch day, but I've read that anywhere between 4-10 million are due by the end of the year... what's the real story? Who knows...
Unhonestly... I ddint the PS3 would selll so much less then I generally predicted for a launch... 1/4 of a million... I had predicted at least a half a million.
And I heard some people arent getting one until March or getting some from Austrailia my friend is getting his uncle to send him one from Austrailia since I hate the kid I hope he doesnt get it
