If you have not already heard, nintedo has said they will not sell an USB to ethernet adaptor that supports the Wii until Jan 2007. This means for those of you that do not have wireless capabilities and do not want to invest in a wireless router or the Nintendo USB Wifi connect for the DS (Which also works with the Wii), you are SOL. Does anybody else feel slightly annoyed that nintendo wil not release wire support until later?
Just go out and buy a router...it's much easier. Nintendowifi.com has a list on what routers work and ones that don't. Wink
I am, but for those who are waiting for the ethernet adaptor, it must really suck. January is a long ways away.
Yea, it would...they should buy a router tho!!! XD Sorry lol
I'm hoping one of my neighbor has an open wireless connection. Wink
everyone should just buy a router, just like Sakura said. it will more than likely be cheaper than the Nintendo LAN adapter, and it gives you wireless for other things as well: laptops, other computers, pocket pcs, etc.

a cheap router can be picked up for about $20, more than likely less than the Nintendo LAN adapter.
i guess my thoughts are a wireless router is not that expencive anymore and if you have the money for a wii you can drop 39 bucks for a cheap wireless if you want to play fully.

i wonder what happens if you dont have high speed internet.
ive got a router in my house, so i have wireless capabilities! horray!

i need to get some friends with wii's though...
I'm probably gonna get the least expensive wireless router I can get when I get my Wii. And I heard that the WiFi USB dongle for the DS supports the Wii.

Black Friday is this week. I suggest you buy a wireless router. They go as low as 4 bucks on Friday, as opposed to 60 - 150. Wireless routers are VERY useful in this day and age, and should be in everyone's home, including yours. You will not only have access to WiFi on the Wii, but you can connect to the internet on other wireless devices like laptops, PSPs, DS's and other high-tec items.
How do i know if i have wireless capabilities?
I've found two fully functioning Linksys WRT54G pre-5.0s at thrift stores for ~$20. These are terrific wireless routers that support nice alternative firmwares. I'd recommend to those without WiFi to shop around thrifts/garage sales first, then if no luck, go out and spend $30 or so on a wireless g router.

LAN adapter will be no less than $20 I imagine - and wires are ick anyway.
What the hell is black friday?

The day after Thanksgiving. The biggest shopping day in the United States. Two days from now. Everything is on sale.

Sounds just like Boxing Day in Canada (day after Christmas)
