Super Mario 64 is the blueprint that built hundreds of platformers over the last decade, and it's great to see that it all holds up so well.

The Good: Very accurate emulation; graphics might be ugly in spots, but they still hold up pretty well most of the time; catchy soundtrack; collecting 120 stars means you'll be busy for a while, unless you've already memorized every nook and cranny of the game.
The Bad: A couple of minor emulation issues; camera can often be a pain to deal with.

That guy is a jackass. 10 years ago this game would've gotten a 9 or better. You cannot review a 10 year old game that is 2 generations ago without giving it a biased score. Mario 64 was and still is one of the greatest platformers to date. I wonder if GameSpot knows how silly they are making themselves look.
The main reason it loses points on the score are problems with emulation, and the lame camera which is just as crap as it was in the original SM64 by the sounds of it.
Who cares, if you liked it then, you'll go on the shop channel and buy it.
I just bought it a few hours ago and I like it just as much now as I did then, if not more. The guy who wrote that review is an ass.
XD

People, I can understand the reasons for the score. Especially the emulation one. He has nothing against the game, just the emulation problems and the camera.
I agree with the score. The score is actually real good for being an old game.
Damn straight, it was number 3 in the top 10 Wii games list as well.
