I really want to play my Wii and update the friend codes that I have, but the little blue light is on and I don't want to interupt it. It's been glowing for a good 20 minutes. What could it possibly be doing? Is my Mii hitting on other Mii's in the parade?
I don't think the Wii will let you do anything that would stop whatever its doing unless you hit the power button. It could just be the light is on to let you know you have a message (have you added other people already?).

Updates I've seen so far only took a couple of minutes. But if you get an email or message from the net, the light seems to come on and stay on (and the time I saw it, it also seemed to pulse slightly).
Yeah, it was pusling. I finally hit the power button as I got tired of waiting for it to go off. I assumed it was receiving something.
When my blue light was glowing this morning, I received a message from another person, which gave it this sweet blue pulse, it was like mesmerizing...
Mine has "pulsed" when I have new messages and the system is off. It's a rather neat feature, like uber-sexy answering machine.

Ha, yeah, that's an interesting way to look at it: "Wii, the uber-sexy answering machine, get yours today Wink"
As I understand the blue light will come one when
a) the system is off but has required and already downloaded the necessary update for your system and;
b)when you receive a message from another wii you have registered...

Are there any more instances, or am I wrong on a?

my light is set for "dim" and hasnt really came on much aside from when i turn the console on.

then again, i havent had any messages sent to me yet.
the wii loves to be turned on!

sorry, i couldn't help myself.

my wii the light only flickers on for a second when i turn the thing on >_> hmm w/e lota ppl saying that to.
i guess that makes sense about the updates and the messages, it was pulsing a few times when it was in the powersave mode. and i turned my blue light up to bright, just because it is so pretty to look at.
