NOTE: though this very well could work (and will actually work), but this is pretty much a joke and probably a bad idea to actually do.
So one of my friends got the Wii brick error code and finally called Nintendo this morning. Luckily, Nintendo is being really cool about all this. He got someone on the phone, told them the problem, and they said they'd send him a new Wii and to send his back (which can still play, just not VC or transfering of saves) when he gets the new Wii.
So why is this interesting to people that can't find a Wii? Because all you have to do is tell them you got error code 110213,give them credit card info, and they send you a brand new shiny Wii. If you don't send them back a Wii, I imagine they will charge you for the Wii and shipping, but they could charge you for more, who knows. That's really the reason why this is more of a joke than serious.
But in all honosty, this is a garaunteed way to get you a Wii since all you have to do is supply the error code and credit card info. You do not have to prove you have a Wii

They said it would take about 3-4 business days, but this is also a holiday and those are 3-4 business days so he's probably going to get it around the end of next week. Luckily, he can still play his games but he's going to lose his saved progress (so he's waiting on Zelda). You can transfer a save to a bricked console, but you can't transfer saves from a bricked console (or at least from a bricked console to a working console).
And yeah, it would be interesting to see someone try this, but I would feel pretty bad for taking advantage of Nintendo's kindness. I would imagine if you did do this the worst you would get charged for is a shipping fee and probably some type of handling fee, but could be wrong.

not gonna try it was tryin to encourage someone reading it to try it.. i've already set my mind to go extra early friday morning... would be better than actually doing the call and receive it next week IF its possible.. haha

I'm not gonna do it, but if I did after they sent it to me I'd call back and say it was stolen. Maybe someone broke in your car they day you were going to ship it back. Simple as that, right?

HAH HAH IT WORKS! But.... I dont have the money i called them and said my wii had a error code: 110213 And they said you can ship the wii in and withing 4-5 buisness days "Not holidays being counted" Then you can ship it. And we will send ours out. And then i called the same person back a day later. And said OMG I WAS AT UPS AND SOME PERSON IN A MASK GRABBED MY WII AND RAN. I was acting histerical. And they said dont worry since you've payed for that wii and it got stolen. We will send you one courtesy of nintendo. Now i was like hurray. And they said but.. There will be a shipping fee and a fee for the wii. And i didn't really care and they said 200 for the wii and about 40 dollar shipping. And i didn't want to give my cc info because they'd try to charge me so i said can i wait till my next work payment "I dont work lol i'm 12" "but my mom will pay." And i still didn't want them to charge me but put it this way its a nintendo wii without lines. "Also i didn't want to scam nintendo.."
And cheaper, 200 dollars but with 40 shipping, less than 250 retail, that's crazy.
Yeah but... I didn't want to scam nintendo when theyre generous and i want them to get alot of money too sky rocket up in sales. Since their system is so cheap...
