Hey, does anyone know if Best Buy is going to set up the Wii's on Black Friday to buy? We are going to get a doorbuster, so we are going at about 3 to get a ticket. Will the Wii have a ticket you can get to ensure it? Does anyone who works at Best Buy or heard info know? I really want a Wii, but if Best Buy isn't the place to get it, I'll wait at EBGames, since it's in the vicinity.
The Best Buy I called says it's a first-come,first-served thing when they open the doors at 5am. The different stores and different associates I talked to made no mention of tickets or raffles, just a first-come, first-served type of thing. Your best bet is to get there early enough to get a spot in line, but remember that a lot of people in line are there for the other deals.
I know at my Best Buy, according to the manager and the ad that went out in the local newspaper today, that they will also be serving coffee and doughnuts before they open the doors.

The day after Thanksgiving, where stores go "In the black" or profits, so they have big sales/deals on tons of stuff. They open REALLY early on this day also.

It's the day when retailers pretty much give things away just to generate more sales. Black Friday has basically become a holiday in itself.

My BestBuy said that they don't know when they are going to get another order of Wii's.. I bet they have them and their not telling anyone. My Dad wanted to take the phone from me and complain because all the stores I called (like 5-6) none of them knew when they were going to get more. It's really starting to bug me and my dad.
I hope my mom let's me get a Wii so badly. I have been wanting it for months before it came out. I may tell her she can have the money off my XBOX if she'll pay the rest for it, maybe that will entice her more.
A lot of the Best Buys are not saying if they have them because they are trying to avoid a situation where they have a riot at the store over five Wii's. They don't want to say anything until they can be sure they have enough to meet at least a small portion of the demand. If you are stuck on getting a Wii from Best Buy, Friday is going to the best bet, both in Canada and the USA.

Patience. These boards are getting busy closer to Friday. But in answer to your question, we don't have Boxing Day in the US. We pretty much celebrate the big three down here: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. Other than that, it's pretty much business as usual.
Well, I can resort to EBGames, seem's like BestBuy would have more though, and we would already be there in line.
