Last night I was watching a YouTube video of some guy getting carried away in tennis, the controller slides out of his hand and the strap breaks. I thought that would be pretty hard to do...

Later I was watching a few friends play Wii Sports Baseball, and while one of them was up to bad he got carried away and swung so hard the remote flew out of his hand and snapped the wrist strap as well. It took a huge chunk out of my sheet rock and bounced to the other side of the room.

When we finally stopped laughing we realized he had hit a home run... nice!

Anyways, the controllers are amazingly durable and there isn't even a scuff on it. It still works fine as well. And now some pictures, because those are fun...

XDD He hit a home run!

Those tings are more Fragile that I thought.
They definitely weren't designed for full force, but I can safely say that my friend was throwing WAY too hard. If you're throwing so hard that it slips out of your hand it's probably too strong for the strap... haha

I am just really impressed with how durable the controllers are.
The Wii mote is more durable than I thought.
yea there was someguy who did that with bowling and it broke his TV. the funny thing is, the wiimote still works. it cracked his tv but it still works. im glad the wii hardware is so durable.
Which is why I haven't gotten a Wii yet. I'd be one of the morons that would get mad at the game and just swing and brake the strap and throw it through my television... which wouldn't be that good XD. Oh well, eventually Nintendo will come out with extra durable wrist straps.
DAMN thats DURABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dat must suck...
that sounds liek fun!
Look where the strap broke as well.. at the weakest point.. Here's some advice though...

You might actually want to hold on to the controller. That helps.

I have not had the Wii-mote come out of my hands yet but I also use a Wii Glove on my Wii-mote... so that does add extra grip but serious grip that when you play Wii sports.
could you sue nintendo for a faulty wrist strap if your tv got broke
No... there's a reason why they tell you to put it on in the first place.. you can't just run around suing them if it breaks.
Well now I am frustrated. I was gone all day with some friends (managed to find 2 nunchucks, finally) and when i get back I find the remote cover broken off one of my wiimotes. I also notice that another wrist strap had been broke. Turns out my sister was playing Wii Sports and being dumb did the exact same thing, threw ridiculously hard, broke the wrist strap, and now busted my battery cover. Nothing is worse than having a little sister break your new toy.....

So now I have to wait till Dec 4th until Nintendo ships replacement battery covers. Tape will have to do for now.. at least it still works.
I think they should make them WAY more durable..mine is getting dirty XD
I thought the first one was a fluke, but after two there definitely is a strength issue with the wrist strap.

However I don't feel this justifies my friend and my sister using completely excessive and ridiculous force in these games. If you're throwing it so hard that you can't keep the wiimote in your hand.. you shouldn't be playing.
Buy a glove... they are already durable.. I've heard story after story of people throwing it around and the thing still works. I couldn't expect anything more from a controller. Dirty? Wash your hands, boy.
Only happen to me once but the strap saved me well.it happened again with BASEBALL! that game is Dangerous.
this happened to me with bowling, only I didn't use a wrist strap and I got a strike, lol, it hit a brick wall and there's not a scratch on it, I love nintendo
How did it hit a brick wall..theres bricks in your house?
You managed to break it? You must mean you found a manufacturing defect, that way it's covered by warranty. Wink
