Have you guys seen this? the TRU in my area has Wii in stock... but, you have to buy a bundle to get it. This bundle includes an extra controller, two games, the wii, and their "service contract". Total cost? ~$450.
Reason is, the service contract costs *$39*,for a one year plan. I tried to raise some hell and even offered to buy a third game instead, but they wouldn't budge.
Looks like TRU has gotten into the scalping game.

screw that whole bundle thing. i thought Toys R Us was only allowed to do bundles with online sales, like Walmart is doing. It just goes to show you how big of NAZI's these good ole' american stores can be.
Thats outright robbery, if that was in the UK i would be righting several letters to the trading standards authority, im not to sure if there is such a thing in the USA if so im not sure of the name, but even so.
im pritty certain that a 3rd party service contract is 'optional' to be offered the buyer, not manditory for sale, i personally would threaten them with legal action.
but then i do get free litigation.
failing that i'd also right a letter to the local paper make up some banners

actually, its not only on online sales. They CAN make you do it, but there probablly not going to make very good buisness. I had to buy 1 game and one controller of my choice when I bought my wii (not at TRU) but I was guna do that anyways.

TRU are to thank for me getting Zelda for free at launch. So I will hold no grudges against them.
ill tell you whats even more Bullshit right here.. I call Toys R Us wensday, they say they will have 7 Wii's in stock. I'm like SWEET! Then I call Thursday just too make sure. They still say 7 Wii's on Friday.
So, They open at 5am. I wake my ass up at 3:30am, Shower eat, and drive there. I'm there at 4:17am. I see the store ppl go in. They open up at 5am. Me and these other 5- or so dudes go STRAIGHT to the Electronics dept. We all say , Wii please.
Then they say "Sorry guys, No Wii's." and THEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOSE!! We all called that week and they said yes.. The lady said "NO at the Counter" !!
We were like u ****ing lied to us *****, and then shes like. " Sorry but we dont got any , your gonna have to leave." There was some Boxes of **** on the floor probably games and they were stacked.. oo 2-4 boxes high.. and we kick them down and say F*** U *****!! We told every1 in line to go yell at her, they did

Well over here in Australia they had a special bundle. You pay $50 off of your Wii preorder and you get a free game at launch, I picked Zelda. But I didn't do it at TRU, I made my EB match it lol.

my local TRU got their 3rd wii shipment today, lowered the bundle to just 1 game and an extra wiimote + their 1 yr service agreement instead of the 3 game extra wiimote and nunchuku + agreement, not too terrible, but i only have money for zelda and the system, friend got one though, got 3 hrs into zelda and i'm amazed, wii sports is the **** too, i'll be in line sun morning at best buy it's lookin like =)
my toysrus was nice, they even gave us free krispy kreme doughnuts, mmmmm
Now TRU have angered me!! ARGH! They have changed the deal and I have to get a certain game at launch, and that certain game isn't Zelda... its NFS:C... not impressed TRU.
i had a friend get one there, preordered, it went good, no grudges, and they offered him that 40$ warranty, but it was for 2 years. but they know they can get away with it, cause people want it and are willing to pay the 40 bucks to get it.
