Okay, Nintendo confirmed that the Wii would have "five to ten times" the amount of the PS3 at launch. However, when I look at my Wii counter, I only see about half a million sold. Is there something wrong, or si that actuallt accurate? I thought there would be many more Wiis sold than that.
Maybe they meant launch window, which could last anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months after launch.
For starters, it has to be a guesstimate, secondly I think 500,000+ is still pretty good considering its only launched in America.
o right. I forgot about the UK, Japan & Australia.
Well then of course it's easy to ousell the PS3 five to ten times at launch since they wont even have any PS3s in Europe (I think australia too) by 2007.
After a week they've already sold more than half of their launch numbers... I'd say they did well. 5 to 10 times? Sony guaranteed 400,000 to the US so they'd have to sell 4,000,000 copies for 10x the amount, and 2,000,000 copies for 5x the amount... Both numbers weren't even promised for the US.
That number will jump in a week when it is launched in Japan, and then again when in Australia and then again in the UK.
