Okay. First of all thanks for all the great info. It was nice to get so much speculation/news/advice in one place. props for that. Here's how my hunt has gone for this week.
Sunday- checked every single store selling Wii in Rowland Hts. area (So Cal). missed BB because of church. Toys R Us says check back Tuesday. Same w/ CC. EB/Game Stop says this week is a maybe. Target worker was really nice and said to expect definetly between Tuesday and Friday.
Monday- Mass calling. Reconfirm of some info.
Today- 3 of us split up and hit multiple stores according to opening hours. total of 4 Targets, none had. 2 CC said check later in week, Toys R Us said their last shipment of 40 came w/out any warning last Friday along with a surprise Wii. EB/GS still no signs of brainpower. CompUSA didn't even seem to know what Wii is. (on side note, we even checked a girl's clothing store Limited TOO because Nintendo had them listed as a distributor on the official site. however, they said they only carry DS Lite. in pink. T__T)
Today (after reading the noon post)- we raced to our nearest Target (Irvine, CA now). No Wii. But guy was really nice and pulled up a list of stores nearby that according to comp, had inventory possibly. Check 2 more stores on way to nearest, nothing. Got to the Target finally. They said no Wiis but got a new shipment of controllers and nunchucks. I got one of every controller. Seems that they might get Consoles v. soon if they are getting controllers.

Hey sc7, this is just more clarification of sunday at Target. My local target told me they are expecting to have some on sunday.
I called an EbGames and was told that they were told it would be something like two weeks after christmas. Walmart tomorrow is still interesting, after that I think sunday is the day.
This is for Southern New York, (Westchester if you know the area)

I think you might have missed them at the Target you got your controllers at. From everything I've heard, Nunchucks and Controllers have always shipped with the console up to this point. That's why they are almost as hard, if not just has hard to find as the consoles. Not to discourage you or anything.
none of my targets (southern california) have gotten any today....
Updates:
Went to my Wal-Mart today. They are sitting on 30 Wii's in the stockroom but can not release them until 12:01am December 6th. They tried to ring one up, but the register just won't let it go through, even with store manager authorization. The store manager even tried calling corporate for us, but they wouldn't budge. No Wii's from Wal-Mart until the 6th.
Also went to Target. Target had 31 Wii's this morning, but sold out within a half hour.
Went to Toys R Us. They said they don't expect a shipment until January (which I think if just their answer so people stop bugging them).
EB Games had a sign on their door that they don't have any. So I didn't bother going in.
Not a very good day.

I'm in Boston and called a few areas around here:
Bestbuy - Fenway: Last shipment was on Sunday Nov 26th, not sure of their next shipment but the guy said it was *rumored* to be Thursday the 29th
Bestbuy - Cambridge: Last shipment was Sunday Nov 26th as well and they don't know when they will be getting them in. Said its just up to Nintendo for when they send them out.
Bestbuy - Watertown: Same as the others
Bestbuy - Dorchester: Unknown, didn't pick up the phone on multiple calls.
3 Bestbuys got their last shipment on Sunday, so sounds like this Sunday is a good shot.
EBGames - Last shipment Black Friday, unknown for next shipment
Walmart - Quincy: Said they should get some next week by friday.
Walmart - Lynn: Said they will have some on Sunday Dec 3rd (not 24hr store)
Walmart - Worcester: said they got 9 in this morning (28th) and they sold out quickly (duh!). He said they don't tell them when they are getting more in and the best bet is to call in the morning.
Microcenter - Cambridge - had a flier about it so i figured i would call and ask, they said the 2nd week of Dec

Target - Watertown: Havent gotten any in since launch, unknown for next shipment.
Thats about it for my area since i don't have a real car (zipcar!). Keep the updates flowing! Most of the people i have talked to have been pretty helpful with everything as long as you are polite to them and ask nicely.
my Local Best buy has 5 in stock without anyone knowing ..or no one wants it ..or everyone already got one. I went.

Umm hi guys this is my first post.
I just wanted ask anyone if they have any idea if wii's are coming out in the EAST BRUNSWICK area. I'm going to try to see if my parents will let me go to get one at BestBuy at Sunday. So far I've called 1 target in Milltown and they just gave the typical "I have no idea calll later this week". So tomorrow i might try Walmart and some other targets!

Okay, I've called like 5 - 6 Walmarts in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area and 2 of them have told me they have Wii's being held and are not allowed to be sold until the new newspaper advertisement comes out.
The last one that came out is set to expire on the 30th so I'm not sure if it's going to be the 1st/2nd/3rd. One lady told me they should be able to be sold on the 1st while another at a different store is saying the 3rd.
Checked local Targets today with no luck...
So far, all I know is that some Targets received only Wii accessories today while other Targets received both Wiis and Wii accessories. My mom was in Target and saw that they had a total of 3 Wii Remotes, 3 Nunchuks, and 3 Classic Controllers. She snatched the 3 Wii Remotes and 3 Nunchuks and called me to make sure I still wanted them. I also asked her to ask the cashier if they got any of the actual consoles today, and he said no. However, they said that they were expecting a shipment today. They always get their shipments over night and put things on the shelves in the early morning before they open, so I'm having her call them tomorrow morning. I officially have everything I want for the Wii except the actual system.

I just checked target in worcester MA, they got 6 in today and sold them in 5 minutes. I spoke to someone at target and they said it will be random for a while. Only 6 in there. The game stop in worcester hasnt gotten any since release but will im sure they will be getting some soon !

Best bets for tomorrow might be Target, im going to be at Target when they open just in case because my target didnt receive any in the midday shipment so possibly overnight shipment i think but as far as WalMart i think it varies in different location some the 3rd some the 6th some the 1st even ive heard im gonna continue to check my local WalMart at midnight.
Are Target's holiday open hours 9am or 8am?

Went to a local Toyr R Us on the way home from work. Heard some guys on another forum had luck there today in CA, and hoped the shipment made it to AZ.
I went to the video game section and found 4 Wii's. I went to grab one, and found it to be one of their empty display boxes.
Girl at the store advised to check back tomorrow (Wed).
The best buy near me got some last sunday too. It must be true. *sigh* my sister has a party this wiikend what should i do?

Call target and find out when if they got some in today, if not tomorrow is a good bet.
Try eb games and game stop as well , they are due for a shipment sometime in the next day or so!
