I did the exact same thing on Saturday last weekend. By the way, Target's holiday open hours are 8:00 A.M. here (in California).
I'm gunning for Walmart as my best bet being that they're 24/7 so I can go the night before the release and get it right @ 12:01 AM...

As I said in the previous post I've called local Walmarts and they've said it might be the 1st or 3rd...
The WalMart Near me has been exspecting wiis for a long time and still dont have any. Said to call tomorrow at 8:00AM
So far, all I know is that some Targets received only Wii accessories today while other Targets received both Wiis and Wii accessories. My mom was in Target and saw that they had a total of 3 Wii Remotes, 3 Nunchuks, and 3 Classic Controllers. She snatched the 3 Wii Remotes and 3 Nunchuks and called me to make sure I still wanted them. I also asked her to ask the cashier if they got any of the actual consoles today, and he said no. However, they said that they were expecting a shipment today. They always get their shipments over night and put things on the shelves in the early morning before they open, so I'm having her call them tomorrow morning. I officially have everything I want for the Wii except the actual system.
same here. that's exactly what happened at the 7th target i went to. seems tomorrow may be a possibility. (So Cal area)
Walmart I just heard is expecting some very soon. An employee told me when I called that I should call tomorrow at about 10 and see their status, they only receive morning shipments he said. Thats the news I heard, make what use of it you can

Target opens at 8 AM pretty much everywhere im pretty sure, and WalMart it just depends on your area i believe i actually talked to a WalMart in my area that had some this morning but sold out, you can actually go to
http://www.target.com and use the find a store thing to figure out your stores hours.
It just sucks cuz it's pissing me off that they have it in stock and they won't let you buy it... It's BS...
Holding it for the newspaper ad is retarded... Do you really think that people going for the Wii is going to honestly buy anything else in the store?!?!?
They probably just wanna make sure they hype it up for those of us who dont know anything but what the store says which is usually "I dont know"
I think stores are getting angry at answering all these wii qustions. I beleve some stores are holding back information...
Believe me, most of them are... Out of the 5-6 stores I called only 2 told me they even had them...
Lady was nice enough to tell me they had them and that she couldn't sell them...
I don't know about the whole Walmarts holding off shipments, I called and everything seemed fine... Unless the employees don't even know that yet and aren't telling me. Where are you from, (this question is aimed at anyone who was told they were holding until the 6th)

Lady on the phone told me she had like 6 of them and she couldn't sell them... She said she didn't know when they could sell them but it was going to be soon because it going on sale would coincide with the newspaper ad coming out...

I called the Walmart on the north side of Chicago.
Do you have any Wii's in stock?
"No we don't."
Do you know when you're expecting your next shipment?"
"Well, we.. hang on.." (then speaking to someone else: "Am I supposed to tell customers what you were telling..."
Then I got put on hold and I couldn't hear her.
When she came back she said "Maybe Sunday."
Take that for what it's worth.. but interesting to go along with the Walmart holding back systems theory.. Maybe she almost let something slip?
Id say most people might want to be at a 24/7 Walmart as soon as hits midnight Saturday(sunday morning) then if you cant get one then quickly regroup and head to Best Buy.

Walmart site has it in stock but you have to buy the bundle with crappy games for like $648...
