this is ridiculous. i dont see how so many people already have them while i bust my ass and cant even come close.

not cool.

Yeah :/

I just called every single relevant store in my city and all said "no" and "we dont' know". One target guy went ahead to mention that i could try back saturday or SUNDAY, but he didn't mention anything about a sunday re-release type thing.

It's just really depressing after a while. Every day making 20 phone calls and getting the same answers. Then hearing how people just walked in and bought one. Really makes me lose some motivation.

Our ToysRUs told us today to expect Wii's in Sunday's ad, and they will have atleast 15 to support the ad.

Our Walmart said something about an ad in December also.

This is in Central Florida
oh yea, and all my info is from Athens GA, or at least metro atl area.

Target: worst
Walmart: surprisingly good (I don't shop there, was just checking)
Gamestop: not very friendly
Gamecrazy: not very friendly
Best Buy: most have been friendly, but uninformative and it seems like they're lying.
Toys r Us: Except the stupid brat who I talked to on Black Friday, the best overall and most informative
Circuit City: Nice, but not divulging any info

Well, I would hope that if you work at a toy store, you'd be a nice person. Big Grin

No Wii's in Nashua, NH Target.
I've already got a Wii preordered at Gamecrazy, but I don't trust them and they have only gotten in 10 since launch.

I'm just trying to find it before more for the curiosity and obsessive traits I own. If I get a Wii before Gamecrazy gets my preorder in my wife & I are going to give it to someone as a gift for Christmas.

It just blows my mind how I can find a PS3 but no Wii when I've asked for both at every store since launch. Maybe the midwest is just getting crapped on in regards to shipments.
I just stopped by the Super Target and the guy said they have Wiis but they won't sell them till sunday. So I would say that if you are trying to a get a Wii before sunday don't go to

Walmart
Best Buy
Target

You are basically wasting your time with those.

The guy at EB games in Lakeline said he would know something Thursday but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

This was in Austin/Cedar Park Texas near lakeline mall if anyone else is hunting in the area.
just called toys r us target and walmart (tucson, az) they all told me they didnt know but to check back later today around noon......why cant these people just know these things it would make our lives and wii hunting so much easyer...Sad

I disagree with your inclusion of Target. We know that they receive special UPS shipments of Wiis, not the standard overnight shipments. I and a few others in this thread struck gold yesterday at Target. In my area, Wisconsin, they got the shipment in at noon. At the moment, Target appears to be the best bet for a Wii if you're seeking one before Sunday.

Alright ladies and gents... This is the news I got on Journey's... Looks like one of the other posters was right and they won't be shipping for another 2-3 wks... Man that sucks... How are they going to put something for sale that they don't have...

So I'll be hitting up Walmart this weekend!
I picked up a Wii at Target in Germantown, MD about an hour ago.  They just got a shipment in today...no idea how many though.
What: 20 Wii, nunchuck, remote, classic controller
When: lunch hour, 1pm
Where: Potomac Mills Target

And my search has come to an end.
12:15pm Called local target, 15 Wii's just stocked. Wouldn't hold one for me.

12:30pm Arrive at counter and all are sold out. Manager says "We shouldn't have sold those because we should hold them for Sunday". Also, store clerk said that like 30+ decended on them so many left empty handed.

Tip: You need to call targets earlier for UPS shipment status, then haul ass over there if you get credible lead. The Sunday morning line is going to be ugly. Hope I can find one before. To Ebay scalpers you won't see a dime from me.

Good hunting all and to the 15 new Wii owners I salute you- except the ebay profiteers!

the coversations i have had with Walmarts in area (South East OHIO) differs from some of your posts.

1) Electronics manager has assurances from Nintendo rep that plenty of Wiis are available in the coming weeks

2) Wiis come in on truck on their own pallet in late afternoon/early evening no UPS or Fed Ex Wii shipments

3) Shipments are checked in 10 pm-ish and put out around midnight to 4

4)no holdbacks or hoarding

This info could be just a couple of store's philosophy and not company wide but it sounded legit to me.

NEW INFO- talked to walmart guty again and he confirmed what most of you already knew, holding Wiis til december 6th, he had 9 in the backroom but cannot sell tilltuesday at midnight

bunch of BS if you ask me, but whatever

Yeah, my local Target said they are holding out till Sunday as well its a bummer seeing how so many Targets are stocking as they get it and all the walmarts are holding out till the 6th some actually had a few Wii's but of course as we know not allowed to buy them untill 12:01 AM on the 6th, EB still continues to say Friday one guy told me today check in around 1 PM on friday and they should have some if not then they would know exactly when they were getting some and Toys R Us is still just a check everyday thing so it appears most Targets and all Best Buys and WalMarts are sitting on their Wii's untill Sunday and Wednesday, So if you have a Target who denies having any Wii's you might wanna be there Sunday morning and with the sounds of people on here they get huge numbers of consoles, the guy i talked to said they arent suppose to say anything about it untill the weekly ad comes out but he was nice enough to give some info.

well the lancaster ohio target lady said Wiis come in on the truck at 4 AM and NOT UPS/FedEx

for what thats worth

I still don't understand the TRU story. They have the deal with Nintendo, one of the top initial allocations. Are they hoarding for Sunday bigtime?
Not from what ive heard of course they could just be greedy with the info like some stores denying they have any like some Best Buys and dont know when but im pretty sure atleast my Toys R Us is stocking as they get em cause right when i got there at open DHL was unloading and they went back in the room and checked all the items they just recieved and not a single Wii in siteSad but the other Toys R Us close to me said they still havent got 1 of their shipments for today and to call around 4ish and if not then she said they were pretty sure not 100% that they would have some tomorrow, this Metro Atlanta area.
Okay ladies and gents.... The wire on Target on random days and receiving their Wii's around 12 PM is on the money...

1st Target I got to had like 30 or so and I picked up one...

Went to 2nd Target and they never got any... Went back to original Target and was able to get a 2nd Wii and they were about to sell out... Only took them like 30 mins...
Same story as everyone else in the Frisco, Tx area (North Dallas suburb).

Wal-mart: hoarding until the 6th.
Target: hoarding until 3rd.
BB: hoarding until 3rd.
GameStop: Thought it was next week, but received an email today saying maybe on Friday and to call/come in then.
TRU: no clue, check back every day

Funny story from BF though... My wife was away in Oklahoma and stopped at a TRU for some stuff for my son and called me all excited: "TRU has Wiis! You want one?" My reply: "Uh, YEAH!"

A couple minutes later she calls me: "False alarm, just empty display boxes. Why would they do that?"

DOH!
