Do you think Best Buy would be a better shot than Target?

I know I'll be checking both. Or it'd be better if a friend or someone were to help you out and each of you take 1 of the stores, just to be sure.

Man... If I don't get a Wii by this weekend... I think I'm going to flip! :o

I went over to Toysrus in Time Square yesturday and ask one of the sales person about the shipment of Wii. She also told me to come back around sunday and said that they'll be giving it out around 10am.
Okay, was just at my Target for the opening. Plenty of wiimotes, nunchucks, and classic controllers, but no Wii. I was able to talk to the Manager and asked about a shipment for Sunday and he said "that's the rumor." He said that Target does not normally hold stock, and sunday would be wierd because Target does not get shipments on Saturdays. So, I used the number 207-25-0001 and checked the scanner. None in the stockroom. So, if this is true, Targets will be reciveing shipments either today or tommorow, and if they hold them for sunday, you should be able to use the number and check how many they will have.

Also, none at K-Mart (not expecting until next year) and Wal-Mart was a bust again.
The WalMart weekly ad should be available in your local WalMart tonight or tomorrow so you can check that out and it should let you know what to expect from your WalMart Wii wise on the 3rd/6th whichever it is for your WalMart

Frankie6212- How do you go about checking the scanner? I'm sorry if it's completely obvious, but i'm so antsy to get one that i'd like to go try this at my target(s)
If you look around the store, you will see red price scanner that say "price check" or "check price here" (something like that). Instead of scanning something, use the keypad on the right to type in those numbers. It will check inventory on their stockroom and tell you how many wiis in the store.

There is normally a bunch of these around the store.
thanks for the quick follow up frankie!

I've stopped using the price scanner info-- just not accurate. I've heard that folks are having better luck with the gift registry system. Only way to be sure is to ask a clerk for stock.

Thanks for the info. I just want to make sure I know who will have Wii on Sunday. I dont mind waiting, as long as I know where to wait. I'm just trying to find something definite. Thanks for telling me not to rely on that price scanner, I wouldnt want to show up there and they have none.
Anyone have luck finding a Wii today?
Well if your area's like mine you can check the weekly salespaper from the stores when the Sunday papers are put out which is from like 12-2 AM here, and if you can get a salespaper before its too late they should tell you what to expect like Best Buys minimum garuntee on what they'll have.
Target Clerk: Yeah, we got 6 cases in yesterday, we opened a couple at the desk, 5 to the box. We weren't supposed to release the ones we did so the rest are in back. "Security" says we have a lot more in the back too.
Me: For Sunday?
Clerk: Yeah.
Me: So you are going to have a line up for Sunday?
Manager, listening in: Yes.
Me: Your going to give out tickets, like an hour before?
Manager: That's right.
Me: Can you tell me how many systems you will have for Sunday? I really don't want to wait in a line if I know that there isn't any chance of getting a system.
Manager: We're not supposed to give that out.
Me: So basically, I have to wait in line all night then wait for the manager to come an hour before and tell me, effectively, go home.
Manager, with smile: Yep. Then adding . "you know we got 143 systems for the launch".
Me: Really. I "heard" that someone released US Tarket launch inventory and it's posted all over the Internet.
Manager: Only rumors, every Target got 143 systems at launch.
Me: Really. So your're going to have like that many for Sunday?
Manager: Smiled and walked away.

Luckily he left when he did. The radiation from my body was beginning to melt his hair gel. Drip.
I'm thinking target might be the best shot for Sunday
Yeah it will be probably, they seem to have the largest amount of Wii's and most people flock to Best Buy first so i myself im going to be at Target
From what I've read and heard, BB has their **** together. Target feels like they are winging it. I would really hate to be in a line that is not well managed and to be in the middle of a crowd control disaster.
Target also requires you to be there earlier as well, they open at 8 AM compared to Best Buys 10 AM but then again if you have a 24 hr WalMart thats doing their release on the 3rd rather than the 6th 12:01 AM Sunday morning might be a good shot at getting one as well
I guess I'm the only one to get a Wii this morning. I have been calling frantically (10-20 calls/day) to get one. Finally found one (Target) that had 4! Technically they weren't supposed to sell me one, but since I had driven pretty far (40 miles), they sympathized. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work and can't play =(

Good luck everyone!
Congrats, if only my Target would budge like that from SundaySad
Checking Toys R Us again. Leaving right now.
