I guess if the GS/EB's a bust today, can always grab the newspaper tomorrow w/the Sunday ad's in 'em.

I'm thinking my obsession with finding this thing is becoming unhealthy, haha
man i went on a freaking driving adventure this morning

woke up at 7:30 am and left

- Target, none, don't know when next will be in

- Super Target 1, none - walked up to a guy and a girl loading tv up - asked, guy said "nope, but check sunday" i said "is this guaranteed?" he asks the lady (i'm guessing manager) if it's guaranteed.....she looks at me and kind of nods her head, i say "so if i come before 8am sunday morning, i should be able to get one" she nods her head yes. I'm so there.

- Super Target 2, none, don't know when next will be in blah blah

- Toys R Us at like 9 AM exactly, moms are waiting for them to open doors lol.....i am like only guy there, guy opens doors and all i hear is "what is everyone here for? *muffled* Tickle Me Elmos & Nintendo Wii's..*muffled*"...i get excited thinking he said they have them, i rush up to ask him, he says "oh no we don't have those today".....bleh dreams shattered. He says should be getting more obviously, says how nintendo is shipping 4 million worldwide blah blah. NEXT.

- Next Toys R Us.....none, "check back sunday"....i say "is that guaranteed?" she responds "check BACK SUNDAY" and smirks. Ok that's my second resort after target sunday.

- Another Target - none, no help at all....useless lol

- Drive by circuit city and they have a sign that says Wii is out of stock lol

- Go by EB in my mall.....girl says they expect some today, don't know how many and it will be any time between 12-5....i ask for card and say i'll be back.

- Go by Gamestop on way home. He gives me same thing. Expect shipment today, though not due for acouple hours or so. I say i'll keep calling and he says "you'll probably have to actually keep stopping by because it's first come first server and as soon as they get off the truck they sell basically". I say ok and leave (person behind me asks for Wii too haha).

- Go to walmart, none, don't know, add another store to useless category

- Kmart just for sh*ts and giggles. None, don't have any consoles in stock for that lol.

HOME finally.

So here is my plan.

I got some lunch, just ate it. I'm about to leave and head back up with some ps2 games i wanted to trade in anyways, to the EB in my mall (might stop by the gamestop on way). She said between 12-5, but i'll hope to get there around 11:50. I am going to trade my stuff, get store credit, and basically tell them i'm gonna hang out until they get the UPS shipment Smile She gave me impression she KNOWS they will have some Wii's on it, so if she says that again i'm literally just gonna browse the store for however long i have to until the shipment gets there lol. I'm so tired of calling and hearing "oh we just got them and just sold out", so this is my plan to end that Smile

WISH ME LUCK.

((sorry for typos and misspellings - in rush to go back to EB)
Anakin,

Crazy day so far, eh?

Best of luck this afternoon
I just checked my wal-marts circular too, says a minimum of 3 per store..and knowing our store they will only have 3 so im going for best buy, target, or circuit saturday night, whatever one gives me the most suspicious answer or definite yes on the phone before i leave
After reading that there was a line at a gamestop, I called to make sure I wasn't going to show up to a big line myself. The guy laughed, and said no line, but also said that he had already checked the inventory of what was coming via UPS, and no wiis. He said the numbers were always right in the past, so he didn't anticipate a surprise. Early next week he said.

Pardon my French, but s**w that! I'll be at Target on Sunday morning Smile
Me: Do you have any Wii's?
Walmart Clerk: No. We don't expect any until after christmas.
Me. Really, can you show me where you keep Wii accessories.
Clerk: They are over here... walks me to the glass case. Big F***ing sign
that states "Attention Wii Customers: You may be able to purchase Nintendo Wii on Dec. 6th at 8am".
Me: Staring at Clerk, contemplating the "may" part.
Clerk: Having seen the sign, expressionless, walks away.
Me: Leaves Walmart, with nasty MickeyD coffee in hand, finds another Wii sign which adds in handwritting at the bottom. "We will hand out tickets at the layaway counters on Dec. 6th at 8am".

Somewhere in all this nonsense there is funny made-for-hollywood story to be written. Better yet, how about a wii story... http://www.thelastboss.com/post.phtml?pk=1666

"Donny, you're out of your element"
Just got off the phone with my local ebgames. He said they're rumored to get a shipment in sometime today, but with the terrible weather, who knows what time. He said they're already people lining up though, and he's guessing he would have to turn some people there already away.

How many people are lined up?
10.

That means they're getting less than 10 consoles?

Sick.

according to the dates, that is last week's Best Buy ad. Best Buy ad doesnt normally go online until around midnight till 2 the saturday before. i used to work there

Really Happy lol sorry about that.... getting too antsy for a Wii.

..Did about the same thing this morning. Woke up at 7:30 and hit up 1 Target, (they said they had none but to check back Sunday. I also asked how many shipments they had recieved since launch and the only firm answer I got was "1, after Thanksgiving"), then to Toys'R'us 7 min. before open (had to sacrifice a stop by another Target and EB to get here early but I think it was worth it. People were lined up already and I waited in my car until they opened the doors. Went in, and they were STOCKED with remotes and classic controllers; only had 1 nunchuk though. I was behind another guy already asking about Wii; clerk said none today but Sunday for sure and to look in the ad this weekend. I asked here also about how many shipments they had recieved since launch which is when the credibility took a nose dive. He said they had recieved none since launch, and then I asked him if they got any after Thanksgiving to which his reply was "oh yeah, on black friday we did receive some". They also had a good stock of games and other various Wii accesories).

I then substituted the stop at EB with a call to the store I was planning on going to - close to work Wink. He said there were none in, I asked when would be a good time to check back, and his reply was today, at 3:00pm. Also he made no reference to any that had been in the store recently. This guy also sounded pretty responsible like he knew something so I'm going to go there at lunch today, then to Targé b/c it's on the same corner, then back to EB for a 2nd check before heading back to work.

godspeed Wii hunters
RIGHT NOW
....GAMESTOP.COM... Wii bundles in now for $695.
Yeah unfortunately EB and Gamestop dont get a large amount of Wii's one guy told me if they do get a order in they only get like 4 or 5
Well, now the guy said the plane carrying the wii's got turned around cuz of weather. How do they go from having no idea when or how many will come in to having information about the flight they are on?
Got a bit of news from Local Gamestop/EB's (Phoenix)

Called the 6 closest to my office,
First one wasn't sure if it would be today
Second one thought they would get some today
Third one wasn't sure
Fourth thought they would
Fifth asked me to callback
Sixth just told me no, and hung up.

I understand the amount of PS3/Wii calls must be nerve-wracking... but I'd hate to see some of these employees dealing with ACTUAL customer service, instead of just giving yes/no answers.
hey guys, just wanted to thank you guys for all ur posting, it's really helping me in my never-ending quest for a wii. what i wanted to know if anyone has heard about any stores around my area that will have wiis for sale sunday morning. Crazy is and understatement, and frankly what i would like to call the day so far would be far to explicit for an internet forum

So i just got back, long story short they got a line before i even got back there, my friend got in the line in the 3rd spot (because i called and woke him up and told him he should go by on his way to work and told him to leave early), i went home to eat lunch and post my first post of today with that long story of the day so far becuase well EB said between 12-5....not 11... So now my friend who wouldn't even want a Wii if it wasn't for me, who was saying "why are you trying so hard to buy a wii, just wait till they are readily on shelves in like February", is getting a Wii just by simply walking into the store at the right time and getting one.

This is one of those time i wish life was more fair.

EDIT: WOW lol...talk about irony. As i was writing this post, my friend calls from the EB and said they lied...and they only got ps3's in. They took his name and # down and he gets right to next shipment in, but the plan is back to him and me going to Target this saturday night and waiting for sunday i guess. haha. wow. what a day.

Trying to keep my head up and just tell myself i will have one sunday, but all this failing has me turning into a pessimistic Sad

On Monday, I was assured that my local GameStop would have wiis coming in a Friday shipment. So, today I went at 11:30, and I see the UPS truck unloading in the back. Very excitedly I run into the store, and ask for the wii.
Manager tells me that the UPS guy said they were missing a package from their normal shipment and that it was probably the box of Wiis.

I would have been guaranteed one since I was the only one in the store at the time.

Desponded, I went to Best Buy to see if they had controllers or anything.
Surprisingly, they had a stack of PS3s for sale.

As this is about the 10th time I've seen PS3s for sale in my Wii search, I decided to pick one up and sell it on eBay to fund my wii habit.

Here's stickin' it to Sony.
I called all the EBGames/Gamestops around me and one of them said they were getting them in today around lunch time. So i went there at 11 and there were already 2 lines, 1 for Wii (i was 10th) and another for PS3 (only about 4 people).

At about 12:15 the manager found out (or told us) how many they were getting.... 3 Wii's. So the first 3 got theirs and the rest of us went home unhappy.

This was in downtown Boston.

Guess its Target/Walmart/BB next.
whew. i did my hunting today too, not to find a wii, but to talk to some faces, make my plan of attack for sunday, and get some definitive answers. ill map it out for you:

called gamestop 10min before open, said they were wii-less and there was a dozen ppl lined up outside. lol? i went there at noon and they said they got 2 in this morning 5min before open and they sold immediately.

then i went to target and the guy said "we will have some in sunday." he wouldnt say how many though.

i then hit best buy where i told him that best buy corporate was doing the "every sunday till xmas" thing and he said he had no idea what i was talking about but that they got 30 for last sunday and to call back tomorrow to make sure.

next door was toys r us, where i had most of my luck. i asked the game clerk if they were doing the sunday wii thing, after which he made me explain it. he then leaned in close, nearly whispering, and said, "yeah, i dont know where you heard it, but were doing it sunday, plz keep it under wraps, we dont want a lot of ppl showing up early, we'd like to have it so regular people can show up and buy one sunday morning without camping out" i smiled and walked away.

circuit city just down the street said they have 15 and are doing the sunday thing.

the best plan for me is as follows: i have a lady friend coming to visit saturday night, but hopefully well be done and ready to go to sleep by about 3ish. ill then pack up and head to target hoping there isnt a line. if there IS a line, ill go get some early breakfast (lol) and just chill at toys r us. they seem to be keeping their wii plan pretty quiet so there probably wont be anyone there.

either way. im getting one this weekend.
Oh yeah forgot to mention the Gamestop i stopped by on way home had a few Ps3's left that just came off truck. Of course i didn't show any interest.

Wii > *

Needles to say, my friend and i will be at the Super Target at like 12:00 AM Sunday Morning, not risking anything.
