I don't know if this helps anyone, but if you live in a rural are like me, Walmart is the only store within a 60 mile radius to get a Wii. I couldn't get one at launch. However, I personally spoke with the manager. He said they are expecting at least 30 more by Christmas. When they come in, they will be put on the shelves. He said the shelves are stocked by the 3rd shift between midnight and 7:00 a.m. He said the best thing to do is to check daily at 7:00. He told me this on Wed. 11/22. I've checked daily, so far no wii for me. By the way, great thread. Happy hunting!!
I really just need someone to confirm the launch on Sunday at Best Buy so me and my friends can go camp out on Saturday. Camping out will probably be necessary right?

Or showing up early in the morning, it all depends on how popular that Best Buy is. I showed up 45 minutes before the Best Buy in my area opened and I only missed it by 10 people.
Yeah man my Best Buy is like the Shangrala here in Ocala, Fl. My mom thought that she could get me one this morning and went this morning only to find like 115 people at like 8:00A.M. Plus, just to put my frustration at ease, I'm going to make sure I'm first in line. (Followed by my three other friends).
I was in line at Best Buy for 10 hours Saturday Night/Sunday Morning...... Midnight till 10am and there was still 12 ppl in front of me.....1 dude was there from 6pm.....
Do you know what time managers and other staff would show up to ta Gamestop or EbGames? I would like to call them as early as possible
Damn Blazed! Sorry brother. I probably will be going at like 9:30 P.M because of that story. Thanks for the story, that sucks bad though. Yeah I'm seriously looking forward to camping out. Got any ideas for what I should bring in my survival kit?
@IAMTHEONE1: You should bring a chair, blanket, warm clothes (depending where you live, some entertainment (book, handheld game etc...) and most important a friend...it's nice to be able to leave and take a piss or pick up some McDonalds w/o losing your spot in line....I feel like crap today but it was worth it...good luck on your search.....o and btw Ive heard that Best Buys are going to be getting large shipments of Wii's on Sundays for the next couple weeks...the location I was at had 63......
Yeah man I'm going to bringing my best mate. My other good friend, and maybe even my cousin, so I definately will have back-up

I have definately learned through experience not to underestimate the will power of Nintendo fans. So I'm very excited and here is what I will be bringing.
-iPod
-Chair
-Extra cash to hit up mcdonalds
-Zelda strategy guide
-Friends
-Monster, or any other engergy drink
-junk food
and i cant think of anything else.
is that when you plan to get yours?

For what it's worth, I was told almost exactly the same thing by a Wal-Mart employee in Lexington, KY today.
I tried picking up a Wii at Best Buy this morning, but that didn't work out. I got there around 8:45, store opened at 10, I was about a dozen people too far back in line. The store here had 33.

Awwwww.... Man! im officialy half-way out of my skin for this stupid system
I realized....I've checked this site, (especially this thread) way to many times, just today....
It has become like an obsession! Buy my old question, does anyone know at what time an employee/the manager might show up at gamestop if they open at 10

I was waiting in front of a GameStop on Black Friday...they opened at 7am and employees arrived around 6:15am....
Damn...I don't know If I should have my dad stand outside early, because what if no shipment came in....I would call early, but nobody will be there to answer....
Should I risk my dad standing outside for like 3 hours possibly for no reason at all, wait for a more exact date, or just have him go about when the employees arrive?
this really is gona kill me if i have to go through another week of school without a single glimpse of hope for me to get my wii.....
i should have got a pre-order when i had the chance but i thought i could camp out and get one then....well i was wrong......
A word of advice,......camping out stinks(i live in minisota, so its COLD!!)but keep up the updates......and good luck to enyone camping out or scouting one down....you'll need the luck...
Thanks Wiiare for your input. Typically, rural areas tend to get conciderably less per store in stock. They normally do stock the shelves overnight. Something like that requires persistent and frequent checking back to the store. Wal-mart is not the best place to get Wiis, as they were on the lower end of the scale for this entire launch.
For Bestbuy. My store had 63 in stock, I missed it by one, and I got there like 6:20. Camping out will NOT be neccisary, but is a most welcome insurance step if you really want your Wii that bad. Getting there at like 4:00AM should be early enough to secure a spot, if not later.
For people wondering about places like gamestop and all, the management usually shows up 45 minutes early. So if they have them, he can know you were there, and secure you in. He can also spare you the pain of 45 more minutes if they don't have them in stock.
Back to best buy, trust me camping is really not neccisary, just a very early start. Remember, each time, less and less people will be immediately after it, lining up. Best Buys do look good for sundays, and if you do camp out, have fun, I may just do it for the hell of it to ensure myself a secure spot, should this Sunday have a lower number of consoles. I'm sure a few hours with a DS in the tent and some food could be fun, especially when hanging with some friends. You'll definitely get your console that way, as I said several times before. (9:30 PM may be overkill).
I guess I'll just send my dad at like 9. That is only an hour wait, he has a Palm Pilot and a laptop. He can bring his friends too..... XD
Thank You sc7 for all the help and information!
(everyone else should really give sc7 +1 reputation for being so helpful)
Hehe, I love being in College...being a Gamestop Employee, I know that the UPS and Fed Ex man comes in around noon. I get out of class around then, I'mma go see if we got in our shipment of Wii's while everyone else is at school or work.

Hmmm... Noon, you say?

I'll tell my parents to call GameStop around then.
