i'm dissatisfied with my local wal-mart. i called three of them and they confirmed it was first come first serve. i decided to go to the one near my place and called them last night to re-confirm and that was at around 9. i got there at 4 a.m. this morning and was told that they did a raffle around midnight so the ones already in line were guaranteed a wii and everyone else who came the same time i did were turned away and i'm pretty sure more were turned away later this morning. a lot of them were angry to say the least since they were told it was first come first serve, too. one even spoke with the manager at around 10 p.m. and yet 2 hours later they do a raffle. ?_?

on a different note, those who are still wii-less (like me) should contact their local targets. i called mine an hour ago and they said they received two yesterday and quickly sold it. they told me they might get another shipment later today or tomorrow.

I've had two bad experieces with trying to get a Wii at Wal-mart. The first was on launch day. The second was last night. I called the closest 24-hour Wal-mart (about 25 miles away) and was told that the Wii would be available at midnight.  When I got there I knew something was wrong since there was no line. A sign in the electronics dept stated that the Wii would not be available until 8 am. Rolleyes

I called one of the Walmarts in my area and they told me midnight the another Walmart said 8am Wednesday. I thought I would go from one to the other if I didn't get one at the first Walmart. I get to the one for the midnight launch no line and no one seemed to know anything about the Wii. I called the Walmart that told me 8am Wednesday and they inform me that sold them all on Tuesday. I would quit calling if they would quit lying.

My Target is being pretty tight lipped about availability this Sunday. Did notice that about 20 titles available on the shelves. No remotes.

Looking for component video cables. Any leads?
got my wii yesterday.. went up to walmart at about 3:45-4am and waited.. they had 30 of them (i was amazed at how many!) and i was number 24.. sweet
i am still without a wii i talked to the manager at k mart and he told me they still have not gotten the second shipment and has no idea when it is going to come in. i am going to try my luck at another store.
so my father will go to Dallas this weekend, and i asked him to look for a wii... i know the chances of getting one are reduced. but i wanted to ask you guys a couple of things:
1) any wii shipments for this weekend?
if the answer for the first question is "yes" then:
2) which are the places where my father is more likely to find one?(best buy, walmart, toyrus...?)

Hmmmmm. Maybe I should call them a few times everyday just to annoy them. Smile

I'd say don't bother with Walmart. My impression from most people's posts is that TRU, Target, and BB are the best places. Getting there early and standing in line is usually required, however.

Mine are on there way, I happend to Check CC online and they had them and Nunchucks avalible for online purchase so I bought both.

I posted a new thread as soon as I knew they were avail. with time and date....Big Grin THere are a bunch of 3rd party ones already on Ebay, which you can seem to get cheaper then the Nintendo ones...but I can't vouch for the quality.

BTW - I just checked CC still has them avil online....go get um

Just buy them direct from Nintendo.

I work in a mall so I know the guys at EB...i went up there today and asked what the status was on the wii's..he went in the back and about 5minutes later came out with one(but was hiding it so nobody could see)....so they have them..they are just not selling them yet..
Where was that, an is that EVERYWHERE?

This is true, my GS sold them this morning. Where you able to get one or find out the real sale date?

Even Canada? lol
Any word on confirmed shipments this Sunday?
it seems like this great thread is coming to an end, with less and less people responding. i am grateful for it even though i have not manage to get a wii. with decreasing number of people responding and reading this thread, let us hope that the competition to get a wii will dramatically decrease as well. i'd just check the sunday morning paper and see if they have wiis in the ads or just check EB/GS when you happen to be around one. i am hoping at this point, people would not be camping out, and the wii fever would gone down a bit. but i'd still go there an hour early if possible.
Looks like most of the people who were contributing to this thread have their Wii's so no new information is flowing through id just stick with Sunday as the best bet.
I think in addition to people already getting their Wii, there are a good amount of us who are waiting till after the holidays to get one. Lots of frustrated people who've braved the elements just to leave empty handed.
guys.. esp those in Canada.. i already have a Wii.. since i lined-up at launch.. but tons of my friends are still looking for one.. and it's hard to find the 2nd/3rd/4th set of remote/controller..

tomorrow morning.. there will be a shipment at bestbuy.. well, at least in Toronto.. rumor from the 10 people lining up (yes, there are ppl lining up now again.. in under whatever degrees weather) that there will be 10 ps3 and 10 Wii for sale.. although when i asked last week, the "unofficial" number from the store guys is 40 wii like the 2nd shipment 2 weeks ago.. so you can take whichever number you like and take your chances..

on a side note.. my sister saw 3 remotes lying around at a Futureshop.. and of course 2 are snatched up right away..
