I believe they're handed out an hour beforehand. Not 100% sure. BTW, which Bestbuy are you looking at?

walmart did that too....the good thing about that is you can get a ticket and go away...you dont hafta stand in line

well...that was not the same case as the bestbuy where i'm at. this was the launch on the 3rd. people that left the line after receiving their tickets, bestbuy sold the systems anyway. there were so many people waiting for it, so they decided to give out the extra systems for those who's been waiting. by extra systems, i meant the ones that were suppose to go to a ticket holder, but left. of course that was two weeks ago....this time will be better hopefully.

that happened to my cousin and his friends when they lined up for hours at best buy and left when they got their tickets to what they thought were guaranteed wiis. once they came back, their tickets were useless since bb gave it to the next person.

also, i was told that both target and best buy (near my place) won't allow campers this time around, i don't know if that's applied everywhere or just the manager's decision. but my search for a wii is over. i was trying to hold from getting one on craigslist knowing that there are some sellers who are just flat out greedy (someone was selling the system w/ no extras for $1500). but i saw one going for $425 and was able to get it down to $400 and it includes red steel and madden '07, which ironically were the two games i was planning to get anyway. are the controllers and nunchucks as hard to find or harder to find than the wii's? i checked pretty much every known nintendo retailer online and called my local stores and haven't had any luck so far.

good luck to all who are trying to get one. also check out your local craigslist, you might just find a good deal.

The wiimote isnt that hard to find but the nunchuck can be a pain in the neck to find in most places as well as the classic controller i havent even seen a classic controller in a store.

I used this successfully, along with the version they have to find a Wii console, to get both my console and extra controllers.

Good luck finding your controllers, I think maybe they should have made the system $300 and included 2 sets of remotes and nunchuks....I think it is sad for a Wii to be used without any multiplayer at all, especially with Wii Sports as a pack-in. But thats just my opinion

I am going to be checking with my local Target and CC, to see if they will be letting people get there and wait early in the morning. If not then i have no desire to sit in my car and run like a mad man to the doors when they open. So this is prolly the end of the line for me.

Just to further confirm Gamestop's plans, I went to one of the Gamestops in my town today and they said they would be receiving 9 Wiis, but they would not be selling them until Sunday morning. It's right next to Target, so I'm debating whether or not to get there around 5 or 6 and choose the shorter line. Knowing the number they'll have at each place helps, I guess, but being that this is the last chance before Christmas, I'm afraid the soccer moms and crazies may be out in full force and far earlier than I'd want to get there--leaving me waking up at 4 or 5 for no good reason...

Don't give up hope online, I just scored one that will be delivered by the 20th.

I would suggest to all looking at getting Wii's from GS to try ones away from targets walmarts and what not. you will have a better chance of them not waiting till sunday to sell them

that's a good idea. it's probably better to stay away from places that are clustered with target/bb/cc/eb/gs. because some stores like target opens early, so if people can't get it at target, they'll move on to bb/cc which opens later. so if you arrive around 7 (targets already handed out tix at 7), everyone who didn't get tix will move on to bb/cc. so best stay away.

unlesss you have originally planned to stake out at bb/cc until they open. store hopping may be a bad idea as lots of people will do the same. pick a place and stick with it....best have other people at other location if possible.

This was probably answered somewhere in the last few pages, but I was wondering if a BB shipment has been confirmed in general for the 17th. I have so many BB gift cards hat i WILL NOT spend on anything other than the Wii.

Well atleast my local target says they will be allowing camping. I now have to decide if i get there for midnight or 4am. 8hrs in the cold or 4 =P after all the effort i have put into trying for one, i prolly should just screw sleeping and get there for midnight. I don't think i really want to chance it. I just hope i won;t have to go to the rest room lol

it's supposed to be in their ad this weekend and i've called all the best buy stores in my city as well as nearby cities and even the ones out of state, all confirmed sunday. good luck!

Just make sure to take someone with you to stand in line while you do your thing!

Other than that, good news! Incase you haven't heard yet, Best Buy will be selling Wiimotes, classic controllers, and nunchuks on Sunday! Every store looked like they were getting like 20+ish of each.

Yea my father is prolly going to go as well and sit in the car incase i need food/restroom whatever. I just wasn't sure if i could do that or if people would get pissed off that i got out of line. Hopefully not because its still the same spot.

Anyway i wish you all luck in grabbing one this weekend!

hello from NJ.  Just wanted to say that some stores still play dumb to the shipment on this sunday 12/17/06  but most will form lines and hand out vouchers.

It was funny when i called best buy in rockaway the lady said they had no wii's in stock so i poroceeded to ask how many will be sold on sunday.  She first said umm who told you we were getting any in stock.  then rephrased the sentence we wont be getting any this sunday and dont know when they will be coming in.  Crazy when i talked to someone later that i know and he said maybe 10 or 20 but still up in the air.

all i know is bring camping gear -- no tents tho-- they dont like it
that is what they were probably refering to when they said no campers outside.
